I didn't like the fact of having the nexus 10 battery in the truck on hot summer days or even in the cold below 0 degrees. So what i did was buy a 20 amp 12v to 5v step down. I soldered the positive and negative directly to the two leads of the tablet battery and removed it. I also used the same...
Latest update with drivers in front doors. You may be thinking why I decided to install the tweeter in the door. Reason was I tested it in diff locations and found that the sound stage was better near the driver. Being near the pillars really separated the highs from the lows too much.
My Focal Krx2's arrived today and all I can say is WOW:pepper:
I hooked them up with my house amp just to test them out without even being in a box. I have never heard a quality set that even comes close to these. The separation stage of instruments are just phenomenal. The feeling that they...
I decided to sent the signal digitally to a hdmi 4 port swicher (monoprice) which takes the sound signal and sends it out in optical cable. That signal is sent to the alpine PXA-800 digital processor which will convert that signal to a JL 900/5 for the fronts and back pillars, and the rear doors...
I originally wanted to go with the nexus 7, but I decided on the 10 inch instead. I want the processing unit do all the converting opposed to the tablet, that is why I chose the 10 since it has hdmi out. So I'll be installing a hdmi to optical converter in between the two.
As far as fitment...
Before I did a complete front upgrade of brakes calipers and rotors, I had the same noise. Afterwards It wasn't there anymore. Try to check your pads and rotor dust shield. If not those things, then it may be your bearing.
Well, I just ordered not 1 but 2 sets of the Focal Krx2 component sets. Can't wait to hear what the hype is all about with these speakers.
Just wondering if I should install the second set in the rear doors or the back pillars.
They are correct about adding a relay. When connecting an additional accessory to a power source wire, you are pulling more amps from that line and may pull more than the fuse is intended to handle. So adding a relay will only pull enough juice to activate the coil inside which is close to nothing.
I bought a separate 1.5'' spacer for rear instead of using the 1'' from ccm. If it's an LTZ, you may have to mod the sensor rod for the auto leveling. Not sure how much retractable space is left on the stock shock if you place a 2''.
Ya, I love the sq from the focals, best I've heard to date. I just find the kappa perfects are going to be too bright for the fronts. I'll be placing them in the rear doors and rear pillars.
Did you try grounding the rca to metal?
