Towed my trailer to the race track, truck drove fine but about half way there my Service 4WD light came on. Never seen that idiot light before. Looked down and noticed the lights on the push button 4WD was not lighted up.
Got to the track and scanned the computer, got two codes:
P1875 code-...
So I am in no way electrically inclined. So I’ve been experiencing a parasitic draw and what sounds like the clicking like my turn signal is on when it isn’t. So I stuck a light tester on the negative side of the battery and just started pulling fuses to see if it stopped (the light on the light...
So I went ahead a removed both cats from my exhaust system and installed the Jegs Y pipe. I used the stacked spark plug arresters between the exhaust and the O2 sensors to fool the computer into thinking my cats were still there. However, my Tahoe is a California truck, so it has not 3 but 4 O2...
So the hoe just turned 24 and I have NEVER touched and/or replaced any rubber components on the body and suspension, so I feel its time to give it alittle love. Anyone know if there is a kit of sorts so I don’t have to hunt and peck for individual rubber parts pieces?
Also, if anyone has done...
Hindsight 20/20 Moment Coming At Ya! (Learn from my mistake)
So last night I was in the Hoe towing my race trailer coming back from the race track when my charging system idiot light came on and my battery dropped to 9 amps. It was bout 5pm so the sun was about to go down, and I knew I might be...
What am I over looking, probably something stupid. Driver power window is non-op, passenger side goes up and down just fine.
Fuse is fine.
Replaced the door switches (thought that would take care of it, but I was wrong)
Its a 2 door Hoe, and like I said the passenger side goes up and down...
So my trusty Tahoe was sick this week. Dead (dead) battery that was still under warranty. Plopped a new battery in there and it immediately began throwing codes:
Po300- Random Misfire
Po303- Random Misfire/ Cylinder 3.
Plugs are wires checked out ok, so I replaced the coil. Still didn't fix...
So many years back when I started looking for a 68-72 Blazer and inadvertely stumbled across a clean 98 2 Door, I had that thought that one day this thing would be a classic. Granted the 2 door was only 8 years old at the time, so in no way was it wasn't a classic by any means; but I remember...
I used to paint aircraft back in the day. I painted my Willys CJ5 in my garage a few years and I'm considering doing the same to the Tahoe. The paint is beginning to lift in areas due to GM's horrible primer used in 90's.
So if you've painted your own rig at home, show me what you've got . . ...
So its been a while since I last logged in. Babies, career change, relocation have kept me pretty busy. My trusty stead has still been my daily driver and until last week its only been in the repair shop twice in 164k miles of use. All in all, my rig has been bullet proof and a very reliable...

Seriously its ridiculous. I find myself having to ram my door from the inside with my shoulder in order to get it to open. I remember someone saying something about hinge pins or something similar, but I can't remember . . .
Can anyone tell me exactly what it is that I need to replace, and...
I've been noticing a slight power dip/ surge at idle and I'm trying to determine the source. My battery isn't that old, and the alternator is only a year old.
Any ideas?
Calling out to all you DIY fabricators who weld up and design add-on equipment such as bumpers, bumper guards, cages, roof racks, and so on, please feel free to post up your pictures here:
I got my wheels & tire package today. I started the mock up, and it looks tight, Granted, I also have a two inch lift kit that I haven't installed yet . . .
Mickey Thompson 16x8 Wheels
33' Goodyear DuraTrac Tires
So I have been slowly purchasing parts for while and storing them in my shed in the backyard. (i'm a baller on a budget, lol) I was back there the other day and decided to snap a pic . . .
- Rough County 2 Inch Block Kit
- Set of Mickey Thompson Type II's
I have another performance stash in...
So I'm in the process of purchasing tune-up parts for a future tune and I'd like to see what you folks recommend for a cap & rotor replacement? I was thinking AC Delco cause I'm not looking to replace my entire ignition system, so what do you folks think . . .
So my heated seat on the driver's side stopped working. My passenger side seat heater is working fine, so the problem is isolated to just the driver's side.
Anyone else have this problem, and if so, how do you fix it?
I am stealing this concept from the GMT 400 forum, but please feel free to post you build pictures and spec's, past or present, I want to see all your hard work.
So I've been doing a ton of tire research. Everyone likes the look of a mud tire, but the lifespan of a mud tire on pavement is a problem for most. So Goodyear came out with the Duratrac, which seems like a nice in-between; a A/T tire with the looks of a mud tire.
Has anyone here purchased...
Does anyone here have any idea where the thread went that gave a step-by-step instruction on how to disassemble the interior assembly to clean out the HVAC system of debris and crud?
I've been noticing a slight hum or noise from my vents when I run the fan, so I figured I should probably...
