    Power assist steps - grip

Alright, so I bought some grip tape but before I could install it, someone posted a solution in one of the facebook groups. They're 3mm EVA foam pads with 3m adhesive, normally used for boat decks and surfaces. This person sold a few custom cut sets and I tried them out. Easy install, we'll...

What did you do to your 21+ T1XX today?

Not too bad, the fender emblems are a little bit of a pain. One reason I wanted to replace them all is the trunk emblems are set-in from the edge of the trunk lid from the factory and they look so dumb. You can kind of see in these pictures.

What did you do to your 21+ T1XX today?

PPF on the front, cquartz pro ceramic on the rest, factory black emblems, and marker light tint. Boring stuff really but it's done, time to drive.

What did you do to your 21+ T1XX today?

Boring mod but AT4 wheels gotta be all black IMO. My powder coat guy does full service now too, drop it off and pick it up, easy.

'23 HC 'burb headlights & wipers cut off while driving, 2 full seconds.. FRIGHTFUL

That is unsettling! Please send a report to NHTSA. They compile reports and it can help issue recalls for safety issues. Plus if you ever have (forbid) an accident you've already documented...

    Power assist steps - grip

Oh I hear ya, some people think about these things some don't. I would hate for it to happen to a friend or mother-in-law etc. Just trying to help my girls...daughter is bruised up 1/2 her spine and her whole forearm. Yes we laughed, nobody is mad. But it's annoying and uneccesary. The...

    Power assist steps - grip

Had our '23 AT4 less than 12 hours and both my wife and daughter rode the power assist steps all the way to the ground lol. Man are these things slick when wet! Has anyone found a good solution to get some grip on the surface? I'm considering tread tape or judiciously applied bedliner. We do...

Poor Gas Mileage for Tahoe LT 2008

There is an alcohol content sensor that is finicky. Find someone with the right scan tool to do a re-calibration. There are a couple other re-sets you can do for mileage while you're in there.

2 quarts of oil at a time...you're burning it too. Keep that in mind while making $ decisions.

Servicing (or not?) Trans at 200k+ miles

Should be yes, or 6L95. If you have a six speed. Our 2011 Escalade had it. I was religious about fluid changes and it went out at 112k though.

Servicing (or not?) Trans at 200k+ miles

There are definitely going to be opposing opinions on this. But the fact is transmission fluid has two main jobs; removing heat and friction. When the fluid is broken down it can't do that effectively and your transmission's life is shortened...same as engine oil. Do you avoid changing your...

Back from the dead 2007 Tahoe 2wd LT

Earlier this week I took a trip down to Texas, about 1500 miles round trip. The Tahoe did awesome overall, it averaged 17mpg and gave me zero drivetrain problems, no lights, no hiccups, nothing. That's amazing for a previously neglected 265k rig with original engine and trans. But the rough...

Back from the dead 2007 Tahoe 2wd LT

Just been driving the wheels off this thing all summer, almost 5,000 miles. I love that I can rely on it to go anywhere and park anywhere without worry about windshield chips, dings, hail, theft, etc. Keeping the miles off my new truck was the main reason I bought this, followed by having an...

Back from the dead 2007 Tahoe 2wd LT

Well I haven't been able to lower this thing yet but I picked up some 22" snowflakes. I wasn't really needing new wheels or tires but these popped up on FB Marketplace for $600 and they're OEM and clean. I have tires, TPMS, center caps and lug nuts ready to go just need time to get them all...

    Sony XAV-AX1000

For sure, that would be awesome. I jumped into my friends 2021 AT4 last week and CarPlay is wireless, but it's not in my 2020 Silverado. I guess it's a '21 thing. Bummed : (

    Sony XAV-AX1000

I just installed the Sony XAV-AX1000 in my 2007 Tahoe. Since this is an extra vehicle, I wanted a unit that is inexpensive but has Carplay and a volume knob, which narrowed it down quickly. It has a factory look and feel, the user interface is simple and easy and it seems like it boots...

    TPMS Sensors

We charge around $100-120 each fdepending on the vehicle at my shop, that's dismounting the tire, installing the new sensor, re-balancing and programming. Lately we have been using Autel sensors with good results. Yes they're expensive...we're not a tire shop but we do quite a few and our...

Back from the dead 2007 Tahoe 2wd LT

I had to do something about the stereo situation, mainly because the stickers on the worn buttons of the stock unit were killing me lol. I wanted Carplay and a volume knob but a reliable brand and not too expensive. So that narrowed it down to one option; Sony XAV-AX1000. It's simple and easy...
