Don't know anything about your PAC, but the mic plugs in via the headphone jack. It's a 3 post terminal (left, right, microphone)
My truck doesn't have steering wheel controls, but I would think you would need to be a GM electrical engineer to figure that one out. Good luck with it!
The tablet has an automatic dimmer that dims when it gets dark in the truck. Dimming/brightness has never been an issue
The only issue I have had so far is the battery temp in the summer. The tablet will pop up a message saying the battery is hot and charging will be paused until the battery...
You will have to make some cuts to your dash to get the ipad mini to fit. Even then, it wont look like it belongs. Its a weird shape (not 16x9).
Also, the ipad does not have a built in GPS antenna. So GPS will only work if you have an ipad with a data plan. I couldnt get the gps on my ipad...
Yes, but you would need an aftermarket amp to power your speakers. The Bose system has an amp in the center console. I believe the non-Bose systems are powered through the stock head unit.
I don't pull the dash if I need to access it. I pull the cup holder and the USB cable is right there. I just pull the USB cable from the charger and plug into my laptop. You can also set up an app called AirPlayIt and stream all your music and movies to the tablet from your home computer. You...
I dont know of a way to add a USP port, but the tablet has a MicroSD card slot. I have a 32gb card in there with music and a few movies. I read that the 32gb is the biggest you can go.
An 8" tab might be too big. I know the iPad mini is WAY too big to fit without cutting up the dash and it's less than 8". I tried the iPad mini before I installed the Samsung.
I only have a subwoofer amp. I am using a line output converter spliced into the speaker wires feeding the factory sub under the center console.
You could use another RCA splitter and run more RCAs to another amp.
I have a volume widget that runs up and down the left side of the screen. I just swipe my finger up and down the side and it adjusts the volume regardless of what screen is displayed.
The microphone is for video chat and voice recognition for GoogleNow.
Its fine. I compared it against my iphone and the Apple devices definitely sound better, but I downloaded an EQ app and it sounds fine. Its not studio quality, but it is good.
The iphone sounded better than my Avic Z3 when I tested with it. I was thinking about an iPad mini, but they dont...
Its really a no-brainer when you think about it. My last stereo was a Pioneer Avic-Z3 and it retailed for $1800. It played DVDs and had navigation, but that's about it. I have about $300 in this unit and it does so much more!
This thing has the weather forecast on the home screen...
I had some free time at work and I knocked out a quick write-up.

Here is a little write-up on how to set up a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7” tablet as the primary stereo in a 00-06 Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade with Bose
Parts needed:
1 - Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7” ($199 at Best Buy)...
No, The Galaxy comes with built-in GPS. Navigation works with or without internet connectivity.
I will get you guys a write up, but this week and next week are shaping up to be a traffic jam. I will get it done in a few weeks.
The 2 big ticket items for the install are the Galaxy Tab (I...
I used the same harness adapter I had with my Pioneer Nav stereo. Its the GMOS-04 by Metra.
I installed a switched 12v cig lighter adapter under the cup holders and ran the usb docking cable to it for power. I used the RED and BLACK wires that would normally connect to the head unit to power...
I thought you guys would like to see my Galaxy installed in the truck.
Its a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" and it fits like a glove. It has a built in GPS antenna and it works flawlessly. Internet is tethered through my iphone and I use TuneIn Radio for my local radio stations along with Spotify...
