    HVAC Issues...

Yes, I had the battery replaced. I found a topic on the recalibrating the HVAC, and that worked. Just need to replace the clutch and pulley on my compressor, it makes that banging noise when its engaged.

Same problem here. I can get the vent controls to work, but even when turned off, I am still getting hot air coming thru what ever vent setting I have it on.

    steering wheel shake

Check the Pitman and idler arms for play. I just put 20's on mine (305/50-20), and have a floating/sloppy steering wheel play. Ball joints and Tie rods are all good, noticed a lot of play in my pitman/idler arms.

    4x4 service light

Has anyone else had an issue with the "Service 4wd" coming on your service center? Mine has come on a few times, but after shutting off suburban and turning back on, the service light is off, and the 4x4 works fine. I am thinking it may be a possible loose connection or a sensor starting to go...

    Removing Trim?

If you have kept up with it like that, then you may not have that much if any noticable difference when you remove it. Try a small section at first, and clean, clay bar, and wax and see how it turns out.

    Intake Gasket? or Head gasket?

Yup. Parts was 650 and the rest labor. But, I've known the shop that did the work, and with being out on workmans comp I cant really do all that in my driveway. The rest of work needed is waiting until spring time and I can do it.

    Removing Trim?

how old is the truck, and how clean is the paint around the trim you want to remove? My 2005 Ram that I debadged in 2008 wasnt that bad, but it only had a 3 y/o paint job, that I clay barred, and detailed once a week. If its an older truck, then you may have noticable spots, but...

    99 Yukon Head Gasket

I will post pictures of the plugs later, but mechanic is putting her back together now. Compression test and pressure test were done. They narrowed it down to the intake gaskets, my radiator was also shot. They replaced both intake gaskets, upper and lower rad hoses, oil cooler lines...

    99 Yukon Head Gasket

Just pulled the plugs the other day, and #2 and #4 were fouled, to the point of almost no gap left. I noticed oil level was elevated, (still had an oil consistancy, and not milky) but no oil in radiator, no leaking around either head. Truck doesnt overheat, but fluctuates between 185 and 225.

    99 Yukon Head Gasket

Dropped it off at a mechanic I have known for 20 years, and describing what was going on, he is almost positive it is going to be the intake gaskets. He's going to compression test it in the morning, and go from there. Hoping thats all it is. Now, my next question is, would it be worth...

    99 Yukon Head Gasket

195K on her, and I believe the head gaskets are starting to fail. Noticed yesterday that I had no heat in cab, so changed thermostat, and filled coolant. Was driving around last night, and no problems. Drove around today, and noticed my temp gauge was going between 120 & 240. Checked coolant...

    4 door windows

My last 2 suburbans both had the rear passenger window able to go all the way down, but my 99 Yukon only go 1/3 of the way down. Where in the door panel is the "stop" that I have to remove to get them to go all the way down? Thanks
