I have a 09 Yukon Denali. I'm getting one FM station with a decent signal. All the other FM stations are poor if not there at all. This must be a common GM issue cuz my 02 Sierra basically has the same issue but worst. My wife's MDX has no issues. I doubt it's our location. Anyone?
Basically the same issue here. I have a 09 Yukon Denali. I'm getting one station with a decent signal. All the other stations are poor if not there at all. This must be a common GM issue cuz my 02 Sierra basically has the same issue but worst. I replaced the factory radio with an...
If like mine, I was able to clean the MAF sensor to correct the rough idle. Resolved my check engine light. Once you know the code that will get you going in the right direction.
Actually I just got the yukon back from the dealer. Never a good place to take a vehicle for warranty work if you ask me. Took 3 weeks and they actually did nothing but let the truck idle. At first they said no noise. I had to tell them to drive it! Then the tech and ext. warranty adjuster...
I went with set of slotted and dimple rotors from Brake Performance with OE pads for my wife's MDX. So far so good on noise, performance and rust. My brother has a set on his C5 and has been happy with them. My biggest issue is rotors that have hats that rust. Makes any nice rim and tire...
A rear end would make a "whine". if you hear a humming sound then it could be electrical. Try turning off your radio. I have an Alpine in my sierra and it will hum and change pitch with the rpms. Even if the volume is cut low. I turn radio off no hum. Also I recall a friend with tires that...
Hmmm, A hum would suggest a electric noise that you would get from the radio. Do you have a aftermarket radio or amp installed? I'm no audio installer but could be feed back from the alternator through the speakers if it's a hum. Do you still hear the noise with the radio completely off?
So, I've been struggling with this engine knock in my 09 Yukon Denali. I've decided to take it into the dealer. Service adviser almost with out hesitation thinks I have a collapsed lifter. So maybe in a week I'll know for sure.
I also will have my exhaust manifold bolts replaced as I have a...
Yeah, didn't pay close attention and post to the wrong section, However still good info. Not sure the mystery oil will fix my lifters as I'm past the normal tapping sound. She is knocking pretty good. It may quiet them down some. I have an extended warranty so I hope for all new lifters...

Wow, Does your owners manual recommend regular? I know mine 09' says 6.2L require 91 octane or higher. I do recall seeing a sticker inside my fuel door saying the same. See below
Gasoline Octane
For all vehicles except those with the 6.2L V8 engine
(VIN Code 2), use regular unleaded...
I think I discovered my actual problem. My 09 Denali has been knocking on cold starts. First thought was piston slap or lifter tap. Neither seem right due to how long it takes for the knock to go away etc. Truck idles with no knock, only when accelerating. With the motor/trans cold I got...
After a little more research or surfing the web for more info. I came across a potential solution. Seems the LS series motors are notorious for lifter tap. Based on what I've been reading piston slap and lifter tap are nothing alike but easily mistaken to be the same. I've been around GM...
Oil is good. I just find it odd that the knock is only present when the engine is below 200 degrees. Once it hits above 200 smooth as can be. If I park for 30-60min allowing the temp to drop to to 125-150 the knock is there until the engine reaches 200+ again. Another thing is on a cold...
Anyone think I should be concern with the cold start knock I get on a 50-80+ degree day? My concern is that it won't actually fade away until the engine has ran for 10min at 200-210 degrees. Once she is hot everything seems normal.
I've read about this issue should only persist on avg...
I reset the codes and removed and cleaned the throttle body. Codes P0172 & P0174 came back almost instant. Same rough start. Next I'll clean the MAF which looks like it time for a few squirts of cleaner. I want the issue to be bad O2 sensors due to making this a easy fix however I'm starting...
Hello,
Ok, I have a 09 Yukon XL 6.2L that has a rough idle when cold started. Takes about 6-10 sec for the idle to smooth out. Basically it's runs like I have a cam with a 112 LSA. Now I have codes P0175 & P1400. Note P0172 & P0174 are showing in the history. I've read a few threads...
