I don't even know how many years it has been since I posted on this forum.. cant believe this thread lives!! Good to see. I've done nothing to the tahoe in many moons.... :(
i just came back here for the first time it forever! I still miss my hoe... hope everyone is doing good. thought I might cruz around and see how everyone on the forum is doing. I am thinking about getting a Chevy Short Box. Still want another hoe, but I will never love another hoe like the Z71...
The motor was officially blown, so I sold her! didn't get much at all and I had to watch her get towed away from my house. My garage is now empty.
Five years of good memories, an arm that still aches every day, and that place in every mans heart that is filled, and than left empty by his...
oil pickup tube o-ring??? I can honestly say that was not on my (short) list of things... with 180k miles, I assume I have worn bearings allowing too much oil to pass and not offer enough back pressure. My second thought (and still seemed unlikely) was that the oil pump is worn out and not...
The pressure is dropping. Its clicking and knocking like an SOB too when the pressure drops. If I get it up to speed, the pressure will go back up, but probably still a little low.
I recently changed the oil (about 1000 miles ago) and it started to I changed the oil again. The pressure...
The cig lighter under the hood was in fact blown, got that replaced. Will find out tomorrow if it took care of the issue... always a help guys, thank you
My wifes 04 tahoe failed Emissions today... the report says "OBD Connector Integrity Fail" & I think Malfunction Indicator light Status No Voltage:Fail
Also - Your Vehicle reported no voltage at the data link connector
Thoughts?
NBS (in picture) - Low is the gauge dropped down to almost bottom... rev'ed it back up and it brought it to almost 40 but once I got off the gas it dropped right back down...
also, there is a shitty knock - but that has been up and down for the last year
where is a good place to start? Truck is rocking low oil pressure... changed oil a few weeks ago, have put about 1000 miles on that oil change. Still has the proper amount of oil according to my measurements.
it would look better if I had the appropriate shoes... imagine that truck 6" higher in the front and 4-5" higher in the rear... only sitting on the same wheels and tires.
I cant afford a new wheel setup right now as the tires are almost brand new and set me back. I am trying to find someone...
where do we buy??

I still have my original TYF vinyl decal on my workbench... this one will look good on my tool box
i have rear shock extenders... problem was my truck spent most of its time riding on the bump stops... and the rear coils were stiff as fuck...
I was not able to do the free travel mod, which I understand makes the truck ride much better, because my wheels are so GD wide (12"+)
front...
i lowered my z71 w/ keys and coils... made my truck ride so bad I finally removed the lowering kit... i couldnt handle it. Loved the way it looked, hated the way it drove... recently put a lift kit on.
Got the job done. Not to bad... still a little to raked. Now I am on the search for a new wheel/tire setup. I did not swap the torsion bars over, so maybe I will give that a shot next weekend. I used a gear puller to get the keys in and a coil spring compressor to get the rear coils in.
All...
Working on taking the lowering kit off my truck and putting on a leveling kit to bring it UP a bit... having trouble with the lift keys at the moment... Have another thread about it.
how did you brace the rest of the truck up while you were doing this? I currently have the truck sitting on the jack at the front and two jack stands at either side... I do not have the jack free to jack the lower arm up....
So I am doing it... the lowering kit is coming off. I am tired of paying to have my truck aligned all the time and burning through tires. So instead of bringing it to stock, I am going to put a leveling kit on her. It is a Z71 afterall.
Now for the problem... The Modified C-Clamp that I used...
i am thinking about taking my kit off my truck and selling it. Couple problems, I don't remember what I paid for it or what it might be worth. Keys, coils, and rear drop shackles.
any thoughts? probably going to take it off this weekend and put it on craigs list.
do you think the 200k miles is a little worrisome?
I mean, I bought my car with 200k, it ran like a top but it was a 1 owner deal, an old man with piles of maintenance records. It didnt have problems until this fiasco... I have been looking relentlessly for d series motors. I wouldn't mind a...

Dont these typically have less than 100K miles on them?
