    Just curious what you guys think of this coolant level. Has dropped from full since feb 2023 when I got it.

    Have not don’t anything to radiator system was planning on getting a flush at valvoline. No over heating drives fine. I do smell a toasty smell under the hood sometimes and when close to engine bay. No leaking under car. Truck also has to deal with the harsh cold winter as well

    This is normal right? Coolant temp drops slightly when heater is turned on. It is cold out.

    My ford focus will do this too when using heat idling. And even when driving in the focus sometimes to. I’m essentially just cooling the engine further more?

    Scraping grinding noise in rear end somewhere.

    Took off from a stop and kept hearing a very loud and noticeable scraping noise. Like a rock got stuck or something. I looked at my rotors by just walking around the vehicle and everything looks ok. Any idea what it could be ? Seems to only happen when taking off and not when using brakes

    Smelling a burned smell under hood?

    Oil level good, coolant level is maybe an inch at most under the fill line and that’s after a year if not more of this coolant. Not over heating and not stalling or anything. Doesn’t smell electric or like oil either. Here’s a video of my engine bay. nothing appears out of the ordinary

    Is E85 in the winter bad?

    I’m reading that it can cause rougher idle and other symptoms in cold weather because it takes longer to vaporize? I’m thinking about switching back to 87 this winter. It’s already below 40 on the regular and it’s gonna get colder until It hits -40 with windchill this winter

    About my power steering, pop in steering wheel when turning right?

    I have a slight pop when turning to the right now… I was told a few months ago my power steering pump is getting weak. Is it getting worse? My steering still feels pretty effortless. But definitely has a slight groan when turning. More noticeable at idle.

    Can’t tell if my oil to full. Seems to go past the hashmarks. No symptoms of to-full oil though

    I drained the old oil all the way and put 6 quarts of fresh oil in my 2014 Tahoe.

    Usually use e85 so I expect that from e85 but now I’ve been using 91 with no ethanol and I still get 10.9 mpg average. However, my instant economy is around 14-15 mpg on 91 when I’m just driving around town at say, 25mph. Is this normal? Does it take a while to adjust back to other averages...

    Did I fry my ambient air temp thermometer?

    I recently posted about leaving sunroof open, now my only issue is my thermostat is reading 53°F when it’s actually 64°F and it doesn’t seem to change. I read that these read temperature of the ground under the car. So maybe the pavement is just colder than the ambient air temp? Or is it broken :/
