    Stop leak for heater core?

    Could be a Tee fitting at the heater core connection ready to jump the shark on you. Or a slow weep on the radiator tank. Small enough not to drip on the ground but enough to get a whiff.

    Yeah I would replace the whole thing because the next thing to fall out is the switches guts, the center button and spring.

    I'd be surprised if that would fit the low side on the 07-14's. I know it's tight as hell back there I can barely get the gauges hose connected in there. Neat tool though.
