I don’t believe that’s a crack. Looks more like an oil saturation line. I haven’t broken into the inspection cover yet but it is totally wet with oil now. Also, the lower edge of the oil pan has an oil line along the bottom. Apparently replacing the oil block off didn’t do anything. Probably...
Well I finally got around to replacing my oil cooler block off plate that I suspected was leaking. Replaced it with a bullet block off plate that several of you recommended. Problem is I still have oil dripping onto my driveway. Not coming from oil pan, filter or block off plate. Maybe someone...
Anyone know what block off plate an 08 6.2 uses? I’ve seen untold numbers of styles and I want to make sure I have the right one before I just take it off.
Cleaned the Yukon today and when I took the second row mat out (which was dry) I found the carpet was wet on the passenger side. I pulled the trim and didint notice any leaks or signs of leaks. The insulation underneath the carpet is totally saturated and the carpet smells like mildew but only...
Hey all. Just noticed some oil stains on the driveway tonight. Just took some quick pics so I can share them with you guys. I will probably investigate more in the coming days. Anyways, has anyone had an oil leak from the areas in the pics? The pics are looking towards the front from behind the...
Figured I’d follow up with the solution. I couldn’t get the box to stop bouncing. In fact it was near hazardous going freeway speeds with the factory bars. Picked up the Yakima Slyline bars and now the box is rock solid even at freeway speeds.
Thanks guys. I thought the oil life meter was 5,000 miles. I used to track mileage but I just go with the minder now. Probably should go back to tracking. Everything seems to be running well so I’ll just keep an eye on it for now.
Changed my oil today. I went a ways over the regular minder, probably 1-2k. I’ve always gotten a full pan out of it when I drain the oil but today o only drained about 3ish quarts total. It’s never been that low. It doesn’t leak for sure. Is this something I should be concerned about? I don’t...
It’s definitely not over limit. When I push on the box while the vehicle is stationary, the box wobbles like a spring board. It is firmly attached to the rails but the rails appear to have a TON of flex in them. The guy at the store had rails that didn’t budge at all.
Im wondering if it’s the factory bars that are the issue. Met a guy at the store who had the same box and his was mounted on a Subaru and the box was solid as a rock. His rails were thicker than mine.
2008 yukon Denali xl with the factory roof rails that came with it. Picked up a Thule Force XT Cargo box. It’s the big one. When we drive down the road, it bounces up and down quite a bit to the point where it contacts the roof. This is with and without cargo in the box. Seems like it’s the roof...
My father in law gave me one of these. I used it to refill my Ford radiator but wasn’t aware I could pull all the fluid out. I’m guessing you can pull the fluid out as well?
I’ve never flushed the coolant on my 08 6.2 Denali since I’ve owned it (5.5 years). Recently the heater hoses busted off and dumped a ton on the ground. I’m going to replace them and the upper/lower rad hoses and thermostat. Do I need to totally drain every last ounce of coolant out or can I...
Also, maybe to narrow it down, it is most pronounced when coasting and then giving it throttle. There is always an audible clunk but it gets louder with greater speeds
Thanks for the info. I’ll check the slip yoke too. For what it’s worth, when I shift the truck in reverse and drive, there is an Audible clunk coming from under the truck. Been doing that since 2016.
2008 Yukon Denali XL with around 160,000 on the clock. Often when shifting (usually when downshifting when getting on the throttle to pass on the freeway or when giving it throttle after slowing down) there is an audible and felt “thunk” as if it is being slammed into gear. Sometimes it does it...
Replaced the door handles on my 08 Yukon Denali XL and noticed the replacements don’t seat well against the door even with the gasket. Got these from 1a auto. Poured some water over the handle and could see water running down the inside of the door. I then tried it with one of my handles that...
Problem finally resolved!
Thanks for all the great advice from everyone. The fix ended up being very simple. I ended up buying a Mityvac just for ease of operation for when I have to do it again. The problem was actually in the threads of the bleeders themselves. When I was bleeding the fronts...
