I saw the Titanium Rush in person the other day. The AT4 (someone else’s) had just come off the truck and was filthy. I cleaned a spot and it is a beautiful dark dark dark grey. No purple in sight. This was in the bright sunlight, too.
The only downside is that like black, it gets dirty...
First I've seen of this - but this is great info, even if taken with a grain of salt.
It does indicate that the timelines mentioned are mostly on point: 2023 orders starting in a few weeks with production beginning in August. Hope that's true, but moreso hope that production begins with...
OTA updates are a blessing and a curse:
Summer intern: "Hey boss, the code I wrote mostly works. I haven't had a chance to fully test it and my internship runs out tomorrow."
Sr Software Director: "No worries, we'll patch it with an OTA fix next summer when a fresh batch of interns show up."
Beaverton GMC said they had to change the way they do business due to the current supply chain issues, and it sounds like if something is on constraint they don't even bother to submit the order. As @StephenPT noted, they are owned by Lithia and move the most vehicles in the PacNW, so my guess...
Might be a good thing … saw a YT clip where someone was guessing that the LZ0 was getting DFM. That’s just a guess, of course, and while the stigma is probably deserved, we can still hold out hope that GM will get it right since it’s an all-new design.
I would’ve been a fan of this 20 years ago as a college kid, but behavior like that really doesn’t build a sense of community. :)
One way to nip it in the bud is when people register they automatically get the FAQ sent to them.
More to the original point, however, I think a Sales sub-forum...
As I noted in the TPW 4/11 thread, it would be great if someone could create an FAQ as a starting point for everyone to read and the mods stickied it to the top of the forum. We’ve seen tons of posts from people with a post count of 1 asking, “WHERE IS MY TAHOE?!! DEALER WON’T TELL ME...
The same questions keep being brought up repeatedly - nothing wrong with that, but perhaps someone could create a post explaining codes, vinview, allocations, etc. (basically an FAQ) and the mods could sticky it?
Part of the problem, however, is that I don't know if any of us know with 100%...
I did a ton of research by talking to multiple dealers, scouring websites, watching Youtube clips, and even asking a co-worker's cousin who works at one of the GM factories in Michigan to gather up what info I could. I would just stress that the list is, at best, a fairly educated guess. I...
I'd have to agree. I've only watched his Yukon reviews while doing my research and they're painful to watch because of his enunciation and talking speed. And he ends all his sentences with, "And that's all there is for that."
He also has a "2022 Denali review" where he states, "Today I'm...
I mean … you’ve got a 3-page thread that you started on this subject and now you’ve created another thread asking the exact same thing.
As @StephenPT noted in the other thread, going from “order not accepted” to “order accepted” sounds like progress. He even noted that within a few weeks you...
I think a saw a Youtube clip (Scotty, maybe?) that explained how CR generated their reliabiilty reports and it was based on number of incidents per 100 cars. It did not take into account the type of incident. Now that I think about it, it probably was Scotty since he railed against CR for...
No, the nuts part is that people are willing to pay it.
The big GMC dealership near me also has a Caddy dealership next door. I asked my guy about markups for Yukons and he said they aren't doing it. I asked about Escalades and he remarked that if I really wanted one be prepared to pay $15k...
I told my wife that I prefer the Denali exterior but the Escalade interior, so yeah, if they put that 38" screen in the Denali there'd be no point (for me, at least) to get an Escalade.
I did show her some of the options on the Escalade and when I noted that it has an optional drink fridge she...
That's good news for you; hope it works out for you and you get your rig before your family trip.
I placed my order for a diesel Denali maybe a week after yours and it was a no-go every week until I pulled the plug on the order to wait for a 23. Perhaps if I had dropped some options it...
Real pirates still exist in certain areas of the world.
Porch pirates exist all over the world.
I guess Rail Car pirates are a thing, too?
Arrrrrr … Avast ye lubbers - two Yukons and two Tahoes spotted … and all four are Duramaxes! Prepare to board!
As tech currently is for the next 5-8 years, no. Our family already decided on a gas/diesel SUV for distance travelling which would be my DD while my wife would take an all-electric car for short trips for kiddo doc appointments, her volunteer work, etc. So for the moment that means a Yukon...
I certainly hope for your sakes that this gets cleared up … but the “business realist” part of my brain is telling me this is what’s going on at GM HQ:
”We have 150,000 chips and won’t get more until December. Should we send them to our dealers to fix those cars we already sold? Orrrrr …...
Well, back to the original point of my thread ...
... spoke to my dealer and canned my 22 Denali order. It was Denali + Premium package, so fairly straightforward, but he indicated that items in the Premium package were on constraint until April.
Orders for 2023 begin in May but he...
