You have to remember 2015s were being sold in April 2014. They probably didn't have everything ready at launch, or had supplier issues, therefore the mid year additions.
AFM may have been tuned out by previous owner. I have an early 2015 and it has AFM, or did till I had Blackbear tune it. It also has the 6-speed, no phone charger in the console or hands free liftgate.
You're better off not using the Hotchkis supplied hardware. It's cheap and will rust very quickly. If you feel like replacing the GM hardware get some A2-70 Alan head chrome bolts. They are metric.
It's up under the spoiler where it collects. I had to pull the spoiler off to replace the third brake light and there was alot of dust/dirt in that area. Country roads and the aerodynamics of that area really allow the dirt to get up there.
I would replace the magnaride. My experience I went with Arnott passive shocks because there was no aftermarket several years ago. The Arnotts work great but they are on the stiff side.
Yes it is a bummer. How long has GM had the lifetime warranty? If that's the case why aren't the factory installed magnarides covered as lifetime warranty?
I would ask what the labor is involved to replace the came and lifters. If it's a misfire it maybe a lifter on it's way out the door. If they want to replace the engine with a used engine there must be a break point on labor to replace the aforementioned items as opposed to replacing the...
