    @15burban Yup, you replace one part of it and then another part breaks. Keep it simple! Hardest part is swapping the springs over to the front 5100s but once you’ve done it before it’s no drama. I use a Maddox 2 rod spring compressor set from harbor freight works no problem

    Aftermarket will be easier to integrate rather than retro fitting factory style air shocks, unless the wiring and mounting provisions for everything is already there you will have a lot to do.

    I have a 2015 Suburban with these air assisted leveling shocks in the rear that I am replacing with bilstein shocks. Is the spring on this setup a regular stock spring or is it weaker because it is being assisted by the air system? Do i need to get a new spring to go with the bilsteins?

    @texasyukonfl I think the consensus is that all oil is pretty much the same brand to brand. Walmart Dexos 5w-30 full synthetic is the same as any other you would find at autozone or orileys. I find whatever full synthetic 5w-30 Dexos certified oil I can find on sale and stock up. Amazon...

    Was looking in the engine bay yesterday and it looks like the headgasket tabs are shiny so I suspect the lifters and cam were redone at some point. Waiting to hear back from Black Bear to get my AFM tune installed, I'll just run factory hardware until I have a failure

    @Marky Dissod I saw those but even those part numbers differ from the ones the bilstein website declares for my vehicle. Side note, I have air shocks in the rear. Does that mean I have normal springs or should I plan on picking up new rear springs?

    @Sparksalot I am hoping that most of the points outlined earlier in the thread have been addressed at this age and milage. One thing I can see is I need to flip the pill in the trans thermostat, I understand that's a must on these even tho my 4l60e runs at 190 no problem

    It's a 2015 Suburban LT, 188,000 miles, 4wd, standard shocks in the front with a little lift block and air shocks in the rear, don't really know much else about it other than it had every oil change on the carfax. Interior is perfect, exterior has some dents. $16.2k out the door before...
