    GM warrantee advice wanted

Incredible. After 30 days with the truck lying in the crooked dealers shop, and finally an alleged repair for which I paid $185 over the warrantee coverage because they're pirates, at 5:30 this morning it died again. We haven't even had it back 2 weeks. This time of course I'll go to a...

    GM warrantee advice wanted

Today, the 30th day since I took it in, we got the truck back. I bent over and paid the $185 something they finally demanded. Looking at the paperwork, it looks to me that most of the additional (up to $700 depending on which phone call) extortion money they demanded originally was for the...

    GM warrantee advice wanted

I've never had any luck with BBB, but after I get the truck back (God knows when that will be) I will try them . Any place I can post an honest review, I will. Privateers began on the sea in 1400 or earlier, but now GM licenses them on the land. Even with almost daily news of fraud and abuse...

    GM warrantee advice wanted

Hi I'm the OP Believe it or not, this has now gone 23 days and I'm still waiting for the vehicle to be repaired. The dealer has demanded various dollar amounts from me (on top of the $1007 GM has already paid), up to almost $700 more. Always more than last time they demanded. Yesterday I...

    GM warrantee advice wanted

Any idea how expensive it is to hire a lawyer these days? Unless it's a "slip and fall" case, it's so $$$ that there's no way to hire one for a $400 dispute. Or $4,000 either, for that matter. I have a $20,000 case and another $15,000 case, but a lawyer wants $5,000 up front to even read...

    GM warrantee advice wanted

Oh so easy - NOT I'm a nasty old man but the alleged service reps at the dealership just know that they have the vehicle and want more money before proceeding. Thugs. Getting nastier will get me knifed. I carry, but I really didn't want to get into that situation. GM really doesn't seem to...

    GM warrantee advice wanted

In summer 2024 we purchased a 2020 Yukon XL Denali from a dealer in California - we're in the Chicago area, where vehicles rust. Worrying about the engine issues, I wanted warrantee coverage for as long as I could get. The truck was already one-owner, GM CPO. They sold me a GM Platinum...

    Choosing pre-electronics year to buy

I'm not seeing some of this, and I'm the OP. I didn't say anything about the suspension being the same 2005 vs 2020. The 2020 has the "miracle" $1200 apiece magnetic shocks and the ride is disappointing at best - nothing like the used 2020 I drove before buying this one. The 2005 has all...

    Choosing pre-electronics year to buy

Lots of helpful replies - thanks ever so much. We had a 93 for many years before the 05 - also great but the 05 is more plush. Doubt we'll downsize and definitely not Japanese. Maybe a Ford, but unlikely. I want old GM. I want to avoid screens and redesigned things that worked great...

    Choosing pre-electronics year to buy

We love our 2005 XL Denali, but salted roads have eaten too much of the body. I had scary health issues 2 years ago and decided I'd better make sure my wife would drive carefree for a few years, so (after far too little study) we bought a 2020 Yukon XL Denali that had never left the Napa...

    Engine hours

Our 05 Denali had a loose cable that did a momentary dead short out on the road. Engine hours went to zero when that happened. I never worried about the inaccurate engine hours, as they has also been zeroed at a cluster repair some time prior to our purchase at about 3 years and 36,000 miles.

    What to buy

These forums have repeatedly described problems with the post-2020 models that make me avoid them. Maybe I misunderstood ? Can I still defeat the AFM/DFM/whatever without changing the cam and lifters in a newer engine ? As far as values, 2020 seems to be a happy break between the rapid...

    What to buy

Our 2005 Yukon XL Denali is rusting away under us - too far gone to economically repair. We're near (pardon my language) Chicago, where the winter salt eats cars with no mercy. The 93 went the same way. Based on what I've read here I've been looking for a 2020, to get as new as possible but...

What year do I want ?

Long-time owner 2005 Yukon Denali XL. 93 GMC Suburban before that. We live in the Chiicago area and that means rust. The 05 needs to be replaced. I'll look for an inland Florida or etc vehicle. Question is - I see so many posts about this and that newer feature causing issues. I'm posting...

Brake Light Switch - adjustable pedal model

I'll be hiding now When I finally got the clip off the other day, and it flew into parts unknown, the switch fell off. Fighting with what turned out to be pre-broken switch took more attention. Long story short I was putting the switch in upside down, because that's what I thought I saw...

Brake Light Switch - adjustable pedal model

VietVet Thank you for your service I'd gladly remove the pedal assembly (this is the adjustable one) rather than fight this flimsy switch 3 inches up into a 1/2" blind slot. Hint as to where to start ? Yes, I have All Data and will look there. Thanks ! Karl PS If we had the money I'd gladly...

Brake Light Switch - adjustable pedal model

Because I need it now, not in a week. And shipping cost. And does RA really even have it? RA often shows up in searches even when they don't actually even carry the product I'm searching for, so unless it's a significant part or I need enough stuff to make the shipping not so expensive, I...

Brake Light Switch - adjustable pedal model

Cruise has been out a year or more and the Tech 2 shows the brake light switch inpo (though we still have brrake lights) Ordered the one Amazon insisted I needed and then sent it back and ordered the right one which they now recognize as fitting my truck. It's got adjustable pedals whether...

2005 Driver's power seat track alignment

Truck had the seat bottom tilt (lift/drop front and rear of seat bottom) jammrd up like every YouTube post seems to show. Seat moved fore/aft just fine but I was sick of sliding forward. Freed up the clevises and lubricated the jack screws and lever mechanisms and now the seat rottom tilt is...

    Connectors

Yup - only a few hours of pain to finally get to all the connectors, figure out what Jayesh designed in each place, and get the seat bottom off to get to the front clevis. Where the external Torx is jammed up against the floor and not really room for even a compact breaker bar to turn it. If...

The first series big Triumphs (the TR3, 4, etc and NOT the Spitfire) have excellent leg room. Once they started thickening the seat backs they ate up much of that room, but my '63 TR3B (drove to high school in 65 and 66) had enough room that I never had the seat all the way back. I'm 6'3". No...

This is mostly an old man's rant. Please just ignore it. Trying to fix the (probably just jammed) seat bottom tilt on our 2005 Yukon Denali XL. I grew up in what I believe was the real world. Like my father before me, I had an Erector set. I had few actual toys, and very little plastic...

Long crank - continues with key off

I've been a little under the weather so haven't worked on this much. It's very likely past time for a fuel pump now when it's optional rather than after it dies completely. Gauge sender has been flaky for years too. That said, I did take the Tech 2 out there the other day and did the crank...

Long crank - continues with key off

This is not a sticking solenoid, but thanks. It's being electrically held on for several seconds during some crank cycles.
