Changed out all 7 plastic fitting with metal ones today.
I installed oem ones at thw firewall 10 years ago when I bought my denali. But wanted to go to the metal ones after doing them on my escalade.
I meant to hose it down with some nhou oil while I had the grill off, but totally forgot. Ill try and get to it tomorrow.
But yes the ps coolers rot pretty bad I've replaced quite a few of them.
Couple more maintenance items on my denali today.
Few years ago my door handle lever broke so i bought a dorman handle for parts. Use the lever and spring. Well the lever was sloppy and the spring broke within a year. So got a couple junkyard handles to use for parts to rebuild mine. Note if...
Wife was going to take my escalade this morning and she remote started it because its only 9*F outside currently.
Well we could hear the truck screaming from in the house. So I went and took a short video.
I won't bore everyone with the diag, but it turned out to be the new ac tensioner I...
Standard battery tender with an sae plug. Then a 10 foot sae extender and then a 7 pin to sae adapter.
My stuff stuff sits a lot so I keep everything but the daily on a battery tender.
Did a couple things this morning. Finally put together a battery tender that plugs into the trailer plug. Made one for my escalade and one for my Trailblazer SS. No more poping the hood and putting on alligator clamps.
Then I replaced the bulbs in the hvac on my denali. Only 4 worked and it...
Carrier bearings in the front diff are known to go bad. really, it's the adjuster lock tabs letting the adjusters walk and then bearing preload changes.
I've rebuilt a bunch of these front diffs that had WAY worse metal on the magnets only to find rollers on the carrier bearings pitted...
FIxed the tailgate lock on my Escalade EXT yesterday. When trying to lock it felt and sounded like nails on a chalkboard and felt like the key was going to snap. So i shot some lube in on the lock cylinder with no real change. Pulled the bezel off and realized it was the lock mechanism that the...
I have found you really have to wrench down on the ss lines to get them to not leak.
I feel like standard steel lines or even nicop lines are a touch over snug and seal perfect. I really had to wrench down on all my connections when I did the SS lines so they wouldn't leak.

another option as the first appears to be sold out.
P0300 can cause traction control issues. So I would start with that code first.
I like my topscan dongle by topdon. i have not tried it to see if it will read misfire codes or not, but its done all the weird stuff i have needed it for and its only 50ish bucks on amazon.
Sounds like worn rear control arm bushings. but you really need to dig into all the suspension. just because parts are new does not mean they are good.
Well it took a couple days to get back to it. But removed the sensor and it had a raised spot under the sticker which is typically an indication of a crack. Put my meter on it and it was reading open. The "good" used sensors I saved about 10 years ago showed an ohm reading of roughly 19.
Put...
sounds like a bad mode door actuator, or something with the mode door. Where does the air come out if its not coming out of the defrost vents? Front vents, floor?
Had an airbag light come on in my Denali, scanned it and its showing front left crash sensor circuit open.
Guess the drivers front finally corroded and cracked. I've got a few good spares I have saved from over the years. I'll try swapping one in tonight and see if my light goes out.
If its been raining a lot in your area recently, there is a good chance its the HVAC inlet service port. there is a hole in the cowl that has a plastic cover over it. Its got a gasket and is installed at the factory before the vehicle is painted. With the age of these trucks its pretty common...
