    4.10 vs 4.56

Your speedo was calibrated. To what extent did you have your ecm & tcm tuned?

    Vibrations. Stumped for now.

If you (can) shift manually, notethat the only chance of the torque converter clutch locking up is when your foot is gentle enough for long enough. If the vibes go away when you apply enough throttle to unlock the TCC, and come back after light throttle for a bit, it's likely the TCC.

Newb Advice needed: Going to pick up auction PPV

You were also a fan of P71s? How 'stock' did you keep it? By which I mean, how much did you try to improve it by stretching your definition of 'stock'? I'm a Caprice-9C1 enthusiast (and OBD1-LT1 tuner); thanks to those cars, my definition of 'stock' is considerably expanded compared to most...

    Vibrations. Stumped for now.

Did not mention what gear you were in when these vibes occur. If you do not know what gear you are in, can you manually choose the gear to be in, maybe rule out some gears?

    Engine repair

Did they even once try to explain to you WHY cyl#7 has no compression? Is it either or both of the valves? Or the piston? If it's the #7 piston, engine likely has to come out too. If the cam needs replacing, radiator & condenser may need to come out to make room to remove & install. Either way...

    2008 Tahoe LMG Engine Swap

It either has a non-VVT ECM (unlikely but possible), OR it has a non-VVT TUNE (GM OE) in an ecm that COULD support VVT - but it was not turned on, as in PRE-disabled (GM-pre-disabled L92's V4 mode) OR it has a non-VVT pcm. Does it have a 4L60E or a 6L80E? 4L60E LIKELY uses a pcm, 6L80E...

    2008 Tahoe LMG Engine Swap

There's a way to do this without swapping an entire crank - but if you want to address the crank bearings, then you may as well swap the crank, I guess. There are other ways around this too. Not sure precisely how, but Gen4 or Gen3 knock sensors can be mounted to the side of a Gen3 block.

LargER L59 V8 oil filter part number

Thanks for asking; yes, what Fless asked, does an anti-drainback valve do what it says when the oil filter is gravity-fed from above? Also, As in, one in the pan plus one in the filter? Asking for myself, but don't see how the answer would not potentially help others.

LargER L59 V8 oil filter part number

51522 will 'work' (for others), but I've never used the lowest tier / basic / no-frills option (why I don't use Fram - haven't yet figured out their options structure) Always aiming for better or more if not both ... Separately, is it a bad thing to have two (redundant) anti-drainback valves?

LargER L59 V8 oil filter part number

This is what I've been doing, except when I talk to a parts animal, they always ask 'describe your vehicle', then I say, 'if I do that, you'll give me the shorter filter, and I want the longer one, so please stop asking me about my vehicle and gimme a' one of the following: ACDelco ...

LargER L59 V8 oil filter part number

Based on this response, it's safe to lie to the parts mungqi and say I have an '02 Suburban 2500, then take that oil filter and spin it right on my 5.3L?

LargER L59 V8 oil filter part number

Dumb question: Would a 2002 Suburban 2500 (/3500?) with a 6.0L, share its same oil filter with a 2002 Suburban with a 5.3L? Or would it use a different one? If different, HOW SO? Suspect they may be different yet compatible ...

Will a DOD delete fix a lifter tick?

Perhaps it'd've been good to check. Take a long @$$ screwdriver, put one end as close to the suspect lifter as possible, put the BLUNT end against your ear (please). Not quite as good as a mech-stethoscope, but pretty good for minimal outlay.

Totaled Cosmetic Only - What to do?!!

In your shoes, I'd keep it / use it as an emergency runner/parts car get ANOTHER GMT921/922/926 - shorthand for '07-'14 Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade w/ 116.0" wheelbase - in better shape (obviously) with similar or maybe less miles slowly xfer your favorite parts from your old one to the newer one...

Will a DOD delete fix a lifter tick?

Tape a leafblower to your exhaust pipe, start blowering. Spray a soapy solution wherever you want to rule out an exhaust leak. (NOT my idea, works like a charm.)

2021 Yukon Denali - How best and when to use 4wd low / how does it work

You may never need 4Lo. I've literally no experience with 4Lo, so I'll defer to those with experience. All-Wheel Drive (most usually do not actually drive all the wheels, with few exceptions - Porsche? Subaru?) is a euphemism for 'don't think about it'. If you help keep AWD out of serious...

2016 6.2 Yukon XL Denali broken push rod

Better yet, find a 6.0L. Almost as powerful and just as strong on 87, far more reliable and durable than most 6.2L. Ask the shop how much to find and install a 6.0L, is what I'd do if the rest of the vehicle has not been giving you problems. If it has, buy another, I guess.

Newb Advice needed: Going to pick up auction PPV

If it has not run in months then both batteries are dead. 40psi minimum. Does your code checker also erase codes? The sooner the code(s) repopulate(s), the more urgently those codes need addressing/fixing. Best if the fresh gasoline is 91 / 93, whatever they put in the tank is likely LESS than...

High ouput alternator and serpentine belt

And why have we zero ability to lobby for common sense adjustments to this puerile 'policy'?

High ouput alternator and serpentine belt

1st: getting sick of this forum's bad word judge. Is there any redress? 2nd: measure the belt in inches, then look at the last few digits of the part number. You want to change the part number to represent a belt that is (up to but no more than) one inch shorter.

High ouput alternator and serpentine belt

2 questions: 1. What is 'an ** alternator'? 2. Is this this forum's bad word police again? 2a: there's a bad word with only two letters? Seriously? Need to learn this word! Nothing to do with high output alternators: whenever possible, I buy a Gates serpentine belt that is up to one inch...

BREAKING: GM is officially recalling the L87

Once the vehicle is sold, CAFE doesn't really give a schidt anymore - otherwise they'd be following us around tracking our MpGs ... wait a sec - how many of you have those plug-ins from your car insurance company that track how you drive?
