    Yeah, you're just trying to free the stuck snap ring pieces. Once one is freed and removed, the other one will almost remove itself.

    The idea of using the tool to press the ujoint away from the broken snap ring was to relieve some pressure, break the rust bond, etc. If anything, let the penetrant sit in the area to creep in.

    Besides heat, perhaps use a smaller diameter cup/socket and press that side away from the broken snap ring.

    Saw the bilsteins last night after all my research, I am not changing the springs. But, if I get a wild hair up my butt and decide to replace the entire suspension to be like Z71, then I may go bilsteins, but most likely kyb monomax. Since I don't see any stock to Z71 swapping in the future...

    Yep, I've heard the same thing. Heat it up gutenhot! and melt the wax/crayon on the threads and let it wick

    I've heard it's very effective. Trick is to get it hot, apply the wax and let it wick into the threads, and a crayon is what I've heard is the easiest because it's already small diameter and can get into tight areas

    I've read that using wax frees up stuck fasteners better than anything. Heat it up, let the wax wick into the threads, and comes out easily. Haven't had to try the method, but will if I run into that situation.
