Odd for sure.
I would think if it was from welding the damage would be on the inner bearings and axle. The outer bearing race has to good of a contact patch to arc.
Maybe getting hot from low lube or over weight on the top where the weight is carried and the bottom would stay cooler? Would be...
THIS Is what i have already bought, but unfortunately it showed up friday looking like a guy in a F350SD rolling coal ran it over and the screen was broken.
It was to late to deal with friday but as soon as i ship it tomorrow and they can see it's on the way a new one will be sent to me.
Looks like a factory radio. I want to go with a 10in screen. CD/DVD player is cool but i don't even own a CD. A few DVDs that i would never watch in the Yukon.
I know the center dash speaker is 3.5in but i can't find any info on the ohm rating. I would imagine after 18 years it's probably shot and want to replace it.
Anyone know the ohm rating of that speaker?
Feels about the same to me for diameter, but the old wheel feels solid when griping it. The heated wheel feels almost like there is a small amount of padding under the leather.
I have researched the swap to a 4low setup.
If you get the TC from a wrecking yard it's $500 or less. There are several options to shift the TC.
The front end you could leave it alone. I would use a 4X4 front diff and operate it with a switch.
My idea to shift the TC would be to use an actuator...
I did put a Pioneer DMH-1500NEX in a 1998 3/4 ton Chevy 4x4 but it went with the truck when i sold it. Was good stereo for sure.
IMHO, I believe ATOTO S8 is as good as the other "name" brands. I have had 3 or 4 and all worked flawless for me and sounded great.
I do not care about On Star as i...
Well dang! Radio came in yesterday. Of course there was shipping damage and needs replaced so that's gonna take a week or two im sure.
The replacement clock spring for the heated steering wheel came in. They sent the exact same wrong one. So i got a refund and ordered from a different seller...
You need to be moving fast enough on a dirt road so that when you mash the brakes it cycles the ABS system. Sitting still the ABS will never activate.
If you don't have a scanner that can activate the ABS, mashing the brakes on a dirt road essentially does the same thing a scanner will do...
I have seen the both ways. Both ways look good to me, so im 50/50 on keeping or removing. I'm leaving mine on as im used to seeing it that way but if one falls off they are all probably gone.
It's more up to you and what you want. I like em either way.
Ordered THIS ATOTO stereo today off their eBay store. Much cheaper! Also, THIS interface.
Never had a 10in screen stereo and from the few pics i have seen with our GMT 900's i like it.
I have had 4 ATOTO S8 stereos and have liked them all. Problem is i keep selling the vehicles i put them in...
I went with the GM running boards. Will control them with the amp research controller.
Trying to decide if i even wanna hook them up. I like not having to step over them to get in.
Yeah, sold it a couple of years ago. Went someplace in Montana i have no clue where.
The grill guard can be gotten from Amazon. They are still made. They are all pretty much the same also...
EBay for sure. When i got mine it was in sad shape so i refinished it.
If you do get one, do not use sheet metal screws to mount it.
Mark the hole locations and use Rivnuts or something similar with sealant. No leaks or rust!
Here is something else that might interest you.
Got the sub and amp installed today and it works perfect! What a difference it made. Very happy with it and if anyone is thinking about it, just add it. You will not regret it!!
