I would skip those because they are pretty small. Most LS based headers these days have at least 1.75" primaries with 3" collectors but even stock 5.3s will only gain if you go even up to a 1.875 (1 7/8) to 3". I have speed engineering on my ls1 trans am and they are ok for the price. A...
Yeah I saw that part as well. I’m really curious if this could be used with a custom tune.
Biggest thing is, for not much more money you can do a 10 speed swap and have an overall better transmission
What is it that keeps it from working out of curiosity? I would assume the TCM maybe but can't that be tuned or swapped with the stock one and then tuned?
I read one of the q&a’s on jegs website that said it wouldn’t work with a factory vehicle ECU. But then on the summit page the q&a section mentioned it could be tuned to work. I know the 6l80 has a tcm built in so you might have to do some tuning work so that both are happy.
Also for anyone...

I have this one in my truck and I love it. Its a little lower than some may like but I wanted something clean and simple and out of the way.
On a different forum I'm on (not car related) guys have been talking about the newer gen 5 truck engine failures for the last couple of years. Most of them were saying the engines were locking up so it made me wonder if the issue was oil pump related. I know the early LT4 engines had a recall...
I would have kicked it back to them and made them prove the tune caused the issue. The Magnusson Moss act forbids certain things like this. Its been misquoted a lot online but basically they have to prove the aftermarket part(s) caused the failure in question.
Safelite quoted me 500ish to do an OEM windshield in my truck last year. They are still available and I would definitely do it. I have seen aftermarket glass and they are terrible.
Yeah I got a new AC Delco sensor to go in it. I have read for years about off brand sensor reliability so I wanted to give it the best shot of working properly. I haven't been able to find a part number for an OEM screen tho? Also, I am pretty sure it is a sensor issue because the first time...
Are there any brands of screen to avoid? I looked around trying to find the OEM part but everywhere just had cheap Chinese made copies. I think pulling it for inspection is a good idea, just didn’t want to put back in some cheap screen that could come apart.
I will definitely look into the...
Getting ready to do a new oil sensor because mine keeps reading 0 randomly. I know some engines have the screen underneath but some (even DOD 5.3s don't). Should I put one back in? I hope to limp this engine along a little longer before I can fix the DOD stuff properly.
There's always a catch some place lol. I guess I need to read through all of this thread because I had no idea they had been replaced. Guess it kinda puts a damper in my aluminum suspension and aluminum engine swap plans lol
I was mostly interested in the aluminum arms so it's one less steel part to rust long term. Not that there's a huge amount of issue with that but also so it comes with brand new bushings and ball joints already installed. Just makes sense for my needs to do the whole setup. Just wish there...
Interesting. But they are iron correct?
I was wanting to do the aluminum swap to lose the weight and also thought about doing a spindle drop but I will have to rethink either or if the drop knuckles are only iron.
Slightly off the grease topic, the knuckles for the aluminum arms are different correct? If so, does anyone know how Belltech is able to offer the same drop knuckle for both hybrid and non-hybrid trucks?
My truck had a small rust hole when i bought it and it bothers me enough that I want to get it fixed. I think fixing it right should stop it from happening again because they should treat inside that area.
According to a Chevy dealership body shop they won't repair that area but replace the...
They are separate companies with Magnusson making their own rotor packs that also are used by OEMs as well. Whipple to me, depending on the engine family isn't as good. The gm Whipple stuff always seemed to have quality issues and made less power than similar Maggie kits. But on ford engines...
Not that I totally disagree with rebuilding, but the sloppy mechanics guys love high mileage ls stuff because the rings are well seated and the ring gaps have opened up enough to make it safer with boost.
Also, what was your gas mileage like before and after the supercharger out of curiosity.
Please keep us updated on if these are a direct bolt on or not. I’m assuming they fit the stock knuckles too but just wondering if the abs sensor is compatible or not.
These didn't come with that but do you have the instructions for the morimotos that shows where to tap that in? These could easily be changed to be wired the same.
Just got these for my dad for Christmas for his Yukon and did these bulbs for the low beams and they turned out great. The performance is very close to LEDs in proper LED projectors and for sure worth the money. My only real complaint is a big one. The C shaped LED bar light doesn't turn on...
Very interesting. Do you think it was caused by the thinner air at altitude? I’ve read for a long time about deleting the stock in radiator cooler and going with a bigger external cooler (at least on the gmt800 trucks which uses the exact same radiator and trans cooler setups) causing massive...
