    Suburban Drop day(s)

Make sure you get the upgraded Spohns with the del-sphere joint especially if you are doing panhard and LCAs. When I called Spohn they recommended the del-sphere cause it allows some "flex" in the suspension so it doesn't bind up. If you do the boxed uppers and lowers and the Panhard, there's...

    Brembo Big Brake Kit

You shouldn't have a problem. The brembo's from the factory will fit all wheels 20" or larger. Just make sure the compound of the pads they are including is OEM or a softer compound. I went with wilwoods on my rig and I had a lot of brake chatter and its cause the compound of the pads was...

Never ending debate - best oil weight

I have a 17 Suburban and have been using the dealer\GM recommended oil since I bought it. I haven't switched to mobile one or anything like that, even though I use Mobile 1 strictly in my TA. While various name brands of oil, blends, and weights may make a small difference, the INTERVALS...

Gas mileage dropping faster than the stock market, less than 200 to the tank...

Check the TikTok shop. They are selling a variety of TopDon scanners for $200 or less. I may pick one up myself even though I have a BT one like you plus a full on HP Tuners key.

    Weathertech Mats

I ordered my WT liners - 3 rows and the back storage area - days after coming home with my 17 Burb. Curling where the doors close in the 2nmd row is my only issue. Otherwise they are kick ass.

Engine choice for new Yukon XL Denali (best reliability for next 3 years)

I have to agree with @Tinbadtin However, I remember reading that they were planning on putting the 2.7L Turbo 4 in the SUVs as the base engine option. If that was available, I would probably max out a Yukon XL SLT, forgo the Denali package and stick with the turbo 4. Been driving my Dad's 22...

    door ding removal

I did this for my Pontoon boat where there were a couple of dents on the side panels. It worked but not happy with the results. Its good enough for the boat. I would not do this on my Burb

    Need help debating new wheels

DON'T BUY CHROME So had similar issues with my aftermarket wheels. After a few years I kept getting small leaks etc and went crazy trying to figure out where the hole in the tire was. It ended up being corrosion on the inside of the wheel lip. I had the wheels dechromed and powder coated and...

Hello everyone!!!! 2012 Tahoe manual transmission swap?

There's a guy on TikTok I saw that put the same drivetrain in his GMT900 tahoe. I will have to look for it and post again here. But yeah I've been considering it too. I'm super disappointed that the 4.10s I have are screaming on the highway with my 6L80. I didn't realize the final drive...

Why The Gen-V LT Outshines The LS

Didn't the LTs get a 1 or 2mm thicker head bolt? I remember reading that somewhere. Ford did the same thing with the Gen 3 Coyote. I'm looking at fuel upgrades now cause my tuner said I am out of fuel. I think the LT is a better platform but you are correct, it does take more money. I have...

I installed Mevotech UCA\LCA on mine and they have the zerk fittings on them for greasing.

2019 Tahoe 5.3 LT Battery Drain

Completely agree with @RoadTrip but I would add 2 ground wires anyway just to be safe. Using some high quality 8 guage wire (Oxygen free copper (OFC) over copper covered aluminum (CCA)) add a ground wire from battery terminal to the body and one from the engine block to the body - preferably 2...

Opinions on the previous generation of tahoes or Yukons?

Have to agree. GMC didn't "surpass" the Chevy until the K2s in terms of front end appeal. I absolutely loved my 08 Avalanche. I was so pissed they weren't making a K2 Avy. But I succumbed and bought the 'Burb. The 08 Avy without the body cladding of the 800's IMO was a perfect blend of...

    Roof Rail "blanking plates"

I'm interested in removing the roof rails from my Suburban. I know the PPV Tahoe's come without the rails and there is a panel that goes in place to cover up the strip. Had a dealership try and find those plates for the Suburban but there's nothing in the parts list. Has anyone purchased a...

    Potential Re-Gear idea

Not exactly relevant to OP's situation, but relevant to the conversation overall.... I went from 3.08's with the 6L80 to 4.10s. I did that mainly for racing. On my daily tires which are 305/35 24s, RPMs are about 2250 at 75mph. On my race tires which are 265/30 22s, The RPMs are closer to...

    2018 Premier w/transmission issues.

I would take Nick's advice. I personally understand where you are coming from - paid for warranty coverage etc. But if you want longevity see if you can work out paying the difference for an upgraded converter and if they will "flip the pill" on the trans cooling lines. I've got 100k+ hard...

Looking at a 2018 6.2 with 225K...Good idea or bad

I say go for it. Mechanically, if it blows up you can get a replacement 6.2/10 speed combo for under $7k. I would be concerned about checking for damage on other parts - like the rear evap that's exposed under the truck (look under the bumper just behind the passenger rear wheel). All the...

Help with Rims (No more 24s)

I am guessing from the pic, you are running 285 or 295 35 - 24s as a profile. Your tire size is the problem. I have had the same 24" wheels on my truck since it had 18k mils on it (107k now) I am running a 305/35 24 to protect the wheels. It is literally only a month ago that I hit a pothole...

    Consensus on transmission service interval?

I have changed my trans fluid at every 25k. I have the 6L80 but its heavily abused. So far no metal in the fluid. I'm at 107K and the 6 speeds are NOT known for longevity under heavy abuse. So either the fluid changes are actually working or I got really really lucky (highly unlikely)

How often do you go WOT aka "Italian tune up"?

Suburban. Whipple, straight piped, 3k stall, 4.11s. I don't think I can win from a dig just cause of the inertia to move 6k lbs that fast but rolling at 40-60mph I am good to go. I got a bus length+ put on me by a Durango Hellcat once from a 20mph roll, so I know my limitations. There's a...
