The body’s in decent shape 7/10ish, I don’t think a 200+k mile truck can bring 10+k. If I were going to do it, I’d swap out my trans in my 13’ into it and buy a remanufactured 6l80 for my truck. The lifter issue doesn’t worry me to much. if the trans needs to be pulled id probably pull the...
I was scrolling Facebook Marketplace today and randomly came across a 2009 Platinum Escalade ESV for $4000. The truck appears to be in great condition but sellers claiming the engine has some lifter noise on start up and the trucks throwing a P0700 DTC. He also said that the TCM was recently...
Exactly! For the price they charge for an unloaded OEM strut and how specific those connectors are you’d think they could throw one in as consolation prize! Or at least a recommendation note
Yes sir! Perhaps it was coincidental, but when I replaced the struts, I disconnected that connector from the harness. On the left strut, I kept the harness connected and only detached the connector from the strut.
Time to buy a 3D printer, probably wouldn’t be that hard of a project to model. You probably make one out of a piece of pvc trim at Home Depot. It’s just a glorified hook the bottoms the part that’s keeping held on.
Yeah I plan on plugging my decade box into the harness after work, see if that changes anything. Funny thing is today it was fine. I did a service call this morning for a good customer of ours at his automotive shop. After getting his heating issue fixed I brought it up to him and he looked it...
My scan tool did have a module failure DTC but hasn’t returned after clearing. The “right front actuator open circuit” comes back instantly after clearing though. Id pull it in the shop but I just painted and cleared a set of platinum front and rear bumper covers. I was thinking that I’ll first...
Yeah I took that off cleaned it and put it back on it was completely seated. I briefly check the wires leading to the strut and they’re wrapped in electrical tape. I’ll pull it in the garage this week and check it out a little closer. It’s a little strange that either front damper actuators...
I took the blue connector off and sprayed it was electrical cleaner and blew it out with air reconnected everything and same thing. I hooked my scanner up and took some screenshots of the live data
I have a bidirectional scanner that displays live suspension information.
I data logged it the other day and everything seemed to be working after clearing the DTC but always come back next ignition cycle. I don’t think I put the blue connector that connects to the strut in the same way you...
I haven’t had much time to dig into it but that’s where I plan on looking first. Start peeling back some of the plastic wire loom and check it out. I’ll do a follow up post one I get into it
I recently replaced my 13’ Escalades entire suspension back in mid december with OEM parts. It would periodically throw a “service suspension “ DIC message for right front shock open circuit “. It did this before the repairs (same code). After the repairs sometimes a week could go by without an...
I tried reconnecting the sensor and it was still throwing an open circuit code. Replaced the speed sensor and everything went back to normal for now. I tested the old one and it read 70-140 olms. I forgot to test the new sensor but I’m guessing it might have been okay if it were cleaned up with...
Just replaced the air ride shocks a month ish ago. I drove the truck to work today everything was fine, when i fired it up to go home I got welcomes to a abs stabiltack light show
today the Esky threw a right rear speed sensor fault. Is it common for these sensors to fail or is it related to possible bearing failure like the front wheel hubs tripping the abs? I don’t think the rear bearings are bad, no noises or anything just wouldn’t be surprised if they were. The trucks...
