First, your lucky that the junkyard you go to is letting you remove the windshield yourself. Mine wouldn't because they know most people will break them in trying to do so. But they removed 2 ( 1 for my Dakota also ) for $70 each.
I also intended to try replacing these myself - think i even...
Well, the old Yukon delivered several kicks to my ball bag today.
I had Denali headlights/parking lights/grill all set to go on today.
First, I broke the retaining tab off one of the parking lights. First kick to the balls.
I tried to use some plastic welding epoxy to fix it with no luck. 2nd...
My fuel filler door began waving to any cars around me, so I had to replace it. I couldn't find color code 382, but grabbed an 817. And since I am replacing my hood and liftgate with the same 817s ( one of these days ), it should look even better.
I also noticed that the front bumper cover had...
I tried the 90 weight with little success - too thick. Then used some 10w-30 synthetic that flowed better. Use a needle-less syringe and make sure you have a good seal around the needle shaft. First, draw out any air bubbles from the air core, then force the oil in.
Save yourself the headache - drop the pan and install a drain plug that you can remove the next time w/o going thru all this BS. Unless there isn't going to be a next time.
Thanks for replying, but I mean the GPS unit that is to the right of the rear-view mirror on the windshield. I am finally getting around to replacing my cracked windshield and want to get rid of this thing at the same time.
I thought that OnStar GPS module was just attached with double-sided tape, but no. There's a damned bracket that extends under the headliner.
How do I go about removing this useless thing? Before I go exploring can I get at it by dropping the overhead console?
It sounds like the pump took a crap. If you'll notice my username, no reverse is a symptom of a broken sun shell. I bought a kit from Global Transmission Parts + the improved sun shell. You'll also need a new pump.
If you're just gonna get it running to sell it, you might be better off...
And here is my thread which started all this : https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/can-i-eliminate-rear-stereo-controls-w-o-losing-any-functions.116416/
These go where the rear radio controls in the center console are. Mine were all broken off and useless, which is what led me to find these cubbies as a solution.
What is so special about the Escalade stuff ? They all look functionally similar to Yukons/Tahoes, unless I'm missing something. Is it just aesthetics ?
I found some more cubbies - large ( 2003 - 2006 ) $12 shipped,
and small ( 2001 - 2002 ) $8 shipped.
It's becoming more difficult lately to find these, and you can see that I'm grabbing all I can, condition be damned.
I also found a Denali cluster with the trans. temp.
It powers up OK, but...
