    No. That's the oddball, here.

    Warm Start Problems

I never smelled for anything after a first crank failure. But mine runs pig rich (separate issue i'm looking into) so the garage smells heavily after starting in open loop.

How do thieves circumvent the passlock theft deterrent?

Please do. @DougAMiller is one of the good ones. Next topic!

    Warm Start Problems

Is it still on the factory camshaft position sensor or an aftermarket replacement? Mine did like in the video, or as you said sometimes catch, sputter, then run with an aftermarket CMP sensor. Put an OEM one back in and not a problem since. I drug my feet on swapping, even did a fuel pump and...

    05 Tahoe: 5.3 LM7 rebuild. simple upgrades?

What all did they do and how much, if’n ya don’t mind? When it’s time to pull mine, I’d drive from Dallas to Houston for good work. Plus, sister lives down there.

    Stop leak for heater core?

Granted, this is Gen 3, but even then they could come from the factory with the tabs.

Lil’ Help - Question About ZW7 Code and Suspension Upgrade

If you’re not replacing the rears with Nivomats, you must change the springs, too, as they mention. Other members have said it gets pretty squirrely on the highway without stiffer springs when changing to a standard shock with G65 & ZW7. Keep in mind that the rear height will raise, too. My...

    ‘13 Engine ticking

Is that the battery to block ground unbolted? If so, was that done when you removed the cover? Be sure that gets reattached.

Possibly future 2003 Tahoe owner... not sure yet

My 2004 made it to 165k before my Castech heads cracked. Replaced them myself 2x because the refurbs cracked, too. Identifying the casting number 706 is a good start (there are reports of 862 cracking as well, but rare) but to know if you have Castech made 706's you need to pull the valve...

    2002 Yukon/Another knock sensor thread

Sounds like you have a broken wire between PCM and harness. Ivan shows how he tests this:

Thinking of Buying a 00-06 NBS Tahoe/Suburban? Look Here

While the casting number is visible from outside, you need to pull the valve cover and remove the rockers to see the actual manufacturer as there are multiple companies that made the heads, Castech being one of them. They each have different logos in the castings.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I haven't used my IR, yet. The shop did and claimed 38* but I didn't see it. I have one of those old man thermometers stuffed in the vent. THIS PIC IS BEFORE MY LEAK/VALVE REPLACEMENT. Best I've seen lately is 42* but that's after pulling out of the garage. Usually around 50*

Yukon Denali worth with blown engine

Does cylinder 5 have compression? If so, seems like the spark problem could be solved. Especially if none of the lifters are stuck.

Curious to see where you get. Mine had both ports replaced (within a week of each other) last summer which required evac/vac/refill 2x. I'm skeptical because prior to this, it would push 40* all the time. Now it barely breaks 50* after sitting in the sun and driving 20 min or so. I brought...

    Window Regulator/Motor

I used a Dorman in 2015 for the rear passenger window regulator/motor before I knew of Dorman parts sometimes being iffy. So far, it has held up fine - but gets little use.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Have had PowerStop pads and rotors for the front of my daughter's Camaro sitting in the garage for quite some time. She came over to take mom to brunch and activities. Would have been perfect time to swap, but realized I don't have caliper bracket bolts and the stock ones are TTY. Rather than...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

It’s an RPO code for a heavy duty cooling package. I don’t know if it was on our platform but is for the GMT-900. One component is 700 watt fans versus the standard 500. The first design has 9 & 7 blade fans with a second design having two rimless 5 blades. (The standard are 5 & 7). The...

Received the K5L fans in a day and a half. Cleaned them up, installed, tested with Tech 2. Will drive it later and keep an eye on voltage. Haven’t put the Mechman in. There’s a slight difference in the housings, the K5L have a couple spots for something to bolt into it on the right side or to...
