Ok so I just swapped out my factory NAV/DVD head unit with an aftermarket Alpine (ILX-007) that does not support video out, such as the rear entertainment system. A few questions:

1. Does the RES get its power from the head unit?
2. If not, can it work w/out the head unit? There are RCA video inputs in the backseat that should allow me to plug in a video game system or DVD, etc.
3. If it gets power from the head unit, is there a way to bypass this and power the RES so it won't be dependent on a head unit?

Thanks!

Vehicle Specs: 2013 Yukon Denali w/ Bose System

RES can be saved to work with the correct install wiring kit
