Damn. How hard do you drive it?

I’ve had thecopcar 4.5 years and 40k miles. Haven’t changed them yet.

I would say not particularly hard. I also work from home and do t drive a ton.

I think the main reason would be that there is no flat land in my region. Everything is a hill... big, small, steep, not steep.

I’ve got a mix of hills. I also tend to use manual shifting so that may be the reason for me.

I do a lot of manual shifting too.

It could also just be the pads & rotors. I've been using the Raybestos Element3 stuff. I feel like it stops really well, and the rotors don't rust up here with the long salty winters.

That being said, I measured my calipers the other day, and they were well within spec, and I should pull a front wheel off to measure a pad. I bet I can go all summer with how they are.

I just ordered the parts to have on hand, and would rather be working on my BMW.

You think his brake pads are short lived, you should ask Wes how often his are changed out @Doubeleive
hmm lets see historically
Front
cheap pads- 6 months
oem or semi/metalic ppv/ssv- about 1 year
ceramic/premium ceramic -about 18 months
Rear
generally any of the above about 2-years give or take a little

tried some carbon-fiber, noisy and very dusty took them off in less than a year, got new pads under warranty and sold them for $40 to some other schmuck

Luckily the hook didn't put a hole in it. Might have to cut the barb off the hook if you can't wiggle it out without damaging the headliner.

Last month I put a big scratch down the side scraping a tree on a logging road turkey hunting. This month I spilled minnow water in the back and put a hook mark in the headliner fishing. In June I will be driving this beast in Manhattan visiting my daughter. What could happen?? Bullet hole?
It won't be outside in the morning if they didn't take it from you at gunpoint at a light! That place has become 3rd world man. And yet my family won't leave.

Not today but yesterday I kicked it, then slammed the door and almost shot it…

This is all after I started it, moved it down the driveway then 3-4 hours later I went to bring my boy for a haircut and it just stopped mid crank… literally…. Mid crank it just stopped…..had lights radio power everywhere keyless entry etc.
Guess I’ll pop the hood today after work, stop bitching about it and fix it …..smh. I hate NY SALTY ****** ROADS SO MUCH…
Ok I’m done.

Over Memorial day I took some time off work so that I had a 5 day "weekend". Round trip drove about 1600 miles to Colorado Springs and back. Visited the Air Force Academy, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods,..... Deathscalade performed flawlessly even going up and down Pikes Peak. Going up I kept a close eye on Trans temps. By the time we got to the top it was around 225. Higher than I like but not horrible. On the way down, it was the brakes! There's a check point on the way down where they'll take a temp reading of your brakes and mine were OVER 500* :eek: Mostly due to some jack wagon in a Kia Soul in front of me constantly riding their brakes so therefore I had no choice. Long story short, I could literally see smoke coming off the brakes so we pulled over and let them cool for about an hour or so. I will be ordering new pads and rotors after that. :lol:

In the 6 months we've had this rig, we've already put 15,000 miles on her! Pretty shocking that we're on pace for 30k miles in a year but she's doing well and we have no complaints, thus far.
