Was also wondering if it’s a bad idea to cheap out on o2 sensors. Not sure if I should make separate threads.
I have used aftermarket 02 sensors in the past wasn't ever any issue. when I did all 4 of mine (oem) at 100k it cost me $180 with the socket tool, taxes and shipping

Looks like you can just use a wrench. And damn that’s expensive I think the walker after market ones are 25 for both sets on Rockauto

I've seen on this and other forums people having alcohol content percentage issues from using aftermarket sensors and not changing the originals after 100K miles. Very few don't experience that issue but many on these forums do.
Buy once, cry once. The aftermarket sensors don't play well with the ECM, it interprets the data they send incorrectly which throws off the calculations and results in drivability issues.
Not as easy as it looks particularly the driver's side before the cat

Yeah, the socket is needed
I did all 4 of mine a year or two ago...Went all OE stuff from Rock Auto and grabbed a socket from Harbor Freight. The O2 sensors run 40ish for up/down stream so easy to see how @Doubeleive got to $180 all in. IMO, the $10 savings was not worth having to re-do the work - call it insurance. Maybe it works fine but for me, I was not willing to chance it.
BTW, where are you located? I see the snow in the pics but hell, with all the crazy weather in the world, that could be anywhere! If you are anywhere near me, I would be happy to loan you the socket but they are not expensive..https://www.harborfreight.com/78-in-oxygen-sensor-socket-63702.html
Actually, after looking up the part, that is less than the gas to drive anymore than 40 miles.
