The interior of my '01 is trashed, no surprised.
I was planning on buying the eBay replacement seat covers. There seems to be a baseline that cost about $200 for the front covers in 'leather'

then there is also this company, which I've used before on my OBS tahoe. these cost almost 2x.
I imagine they may actually be out of the same manufacture facility. I emailed them to see where theirs are made.

Does anyone have experience with these seat covers? Will these look and fit terrible? I want ones that are leather, if in fact they are leather and not just vinyl they claim to be leather.
replacing the covers won't be a problem, but I don't want to spend the money on these if they are junk. I do need something, I'm not buying a newer truck and this one will go for another 100k

Hello y5e06, I know all about your hesitation… my 05 Tahoe drivers seat was extremely cracked and ripped. After numerous stitches with a curved upholstery needle, I’d had enough. Ordered this seat off eBay, with much trepidation. Costs for piece are quite reasonable, but I’m in Canada so really get hit with shipping $.
Very pleased with the quality (and yes it is leather!), colour match according to VIN code and RPO Code (just to be sure). Watched numerous YouTube videos on ”re and re” of seat unit removal and then seat pan cover replacement. Worked GREAT! The new seat pan cover has been installed for about a year and looks perfect - never had any issues with fit or coming loose.

if you’re going ahead with this, reply and I can give you a few tips I found along the process that make it easier than they show in the videos … almost like the videos “Things mechanics don’t want you to know … lol). Cheers, DwayneIMG_0319.png

P.s., my foam was good to start with as the previous owner had new heated seat elements installed, and added the foam to his project. But new foam can be purchased from these guys as well

yes, thanks! I actually think this is the company I used when I replaced seat bottoms on my OBS. I used the cheaper vinyl. One of the reasons I liked them was they state 'made in USA (houston)'. I messaged to verify. If they have the velco to match up with the foam then I may go with them.

Yes, the Velcro was on the seat cover replacements, and in the correct location to make alignment smooth. I tried one of the vinyl seat covers - was even perforated. Uggh! Aside from not being able to slide out easily, they were hot to sit on. This was truly “the last straw” before I swapped out the old for new leather. What a difference, visually and for comfort.
