Just noticed I have a crack in my front facing camera on my '23 Tahoe. Not sure when it happened but we just took a trip up to the mountains in Asheville, NC and drove on many roads that were kicking up gravel. Didn't notice until I gave it a wash when we came back and water intrusion caused the front and 360 view to completely blur. Since the water has dried out it's gotten better but obviously going to be a problem anytime there is rain.

Anyone else had this issue? Would this be covered under warranty? I have a my first service appt on Friday so I'll have them take a look but just wondering if anyone else has had this experience. Given the supply chain issues I would imagine a new camera would be on backorder if it needs replaced. unnamed.jpg

Once fixed, get something like this and cut it to fit. I have Zagg Invisible Shields on all of my devices and never once had a crack or break of my glass screens upon a fall. I don't know how it would hold up compared to an impact at 50mph+ but I'd have to imagine that the film would help distribute the impact and lessen the likelihood of a crack. This company started off as a military contractor and they made these types of films for the tips of helicopter rotors so that they wouldn't be as damaged when kicking up rocks on landing and takeoff.

Would this be covered under warranty?

Assumption will be that a rock damaged the camera, so no warranty.
But, maybe you'll get lucky and they will just cover it.

Assume no joy and be over joyed if it rolls your way :).

No other rock damage on any other part of the front end. So if it truly was a rock and not covered I am one unlucky person with that direct hit. Already had to deal with tire replacement from nail puncture at 300 miles, bad fuel injector at 700 and 1200 miles, and now this......... rough go so far. Might need to cool it with the customizations. Been a fun hobby but don't want to keep throwing money into a cursed truck
