Hi! I have a 21 Yukon XL. I noticed some clicking type noises in my front end when I would cut the wheel hard to the right or left. I took it to the dealership today and the left front wheel bearing is bad already. My Yukon has 30128 miles on it. Has anyone else had theirs go bad this early in the newer body styles? Now I’m worried that the other will go also and I only have 6000 miles left on my warranty! Just curious if this has been an issue for anyone else! Thanks!

Wow, that's quite premature. I hope it's just a glitch.

On a sarcastic note: what DOESN'T go wrong with the 2021 and newer models????

Yours is the first we've heard about with the new body style. Haven't even heard of the new pickups having hub replacements yet.

Generally, Wheel Bearings are not an expensive repair....retail on the OE part is $216, would think its probably no more than an hour labor to swap it...so...you are sub $500 probably.

But, I would say losing one at 30k is a bit odd, probably a one off.

It's the first I've heard of it. I will say it's was super common on all the old generations to have wheel bearing issues within warranty period. Either the bearing would fail or the abs sensor within it.

Hi please read what I say about wheel bearings today The Pressed together wheel bearings are hidden problems everwhere. I've seen him go out over the years as low as 20kmiles. Try and buy 1 with the guarantee And Try and buy 1 that says it has a copper crush, Bearing assembly Process, the chances of a proper preload are much better with this style of build.

On my passenger car GM’s, over torquing the lug nuts will distort the hub face and cause the wheel bearing to fail prematurely.

The lug nut spec on these vehicles is 140ft-lbs. I think many shops just blast it with the “ugga duggas” of the air wrench and who knows what it winds up at.

If I’m not doing the work myself, I request a hand torquing of the wheel nuts every time my wheels are off for service or rotation.

Every place I’ve ever been uses a torque limiting extension on the air driver. It won’t torque over 140 foot pounds. I have one in the toolbox of my truck…. quick and easy to rap the nuts on and not worry if they are over torqued.
