What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

So OMG, what a difference the new door weather stripping makes. I have to use more force to close the door, but it closes with a nice firm sound. It also cut down on the road/outside noise.

My old weather stripping wasn't in bad shape, it had just a bit of the top edge worn by where your foot would rub over when getting out.

I picked this up about 2 years ago to have incase it got worse, but I got tired of it taking up space in the garage, lol.

Also, concerning the bolts holding my auxillary trans cooler, the 2 per corner seems a bit overkill and is definitely not going anywhere, but wonder if just some plastic xmas tree type push fasteners would work, or should I stick with bolts and just switch to stainless?

My 95 Grand Cherokee and 93 Crown Vic were old school also, no auto headlights

yeah, some definitely got auto lights before the bright lcd dashes. I am surprised the crown vic doesn't. my buddy had a Lincoln Mark 7 I think it was from the 90s and that thing would auto dim high beams and all for you.

in the end I remember riding around in the 80s as a kid and people would forget to turn their lights on. to me it's nothing new, I'm just surprised if a ton of cars have full lcd days but not auto lights. I guess some cars do manually turn off.


even I got pulled over once for forgetting to turn my lights on leaving a gas station in a 91 z28. to be fair we were out at the steet races and cops were always out in force around the known meet up parking lots just to keep people from doing dumb stuff in traffic. so not a place to forget right in front of the cops. I still remember being pissed off over getting 3 point ticket over dumb stuff when they knew we raced all the time just a few miles away. racing was the same 3 points, now it's criminal charge in most states. it was fun being a kid back then.

today's kids with these take overs, man they got these cops covered. they can't do crap with these kids today. in our day the cops would block in the exits and we'd all walk over to talk to them. today they run over each other and everyone like wild animals and get away.

Love old Saabs. Bob Lutz (former GM head of product and one of the only true car guys in the whole place) had some good comments about Saab in his book "Car Guys vs Bean Counters". Basically, he thought it was horse$hit that GM tried to badge-engineer Saabs from the GM product bin.

years and years ago I put some new door seals on a 3rd Gen firebird, car known to be a flexible rattle trap. the door seal did more for fixing rattles and made it feel more solid than the weld in subframe connector everyone always said you had to have lol

Two per corner does seem like overkill. But, they had to have calculated some sort of shock and/or vibration loads on those points to go out of their way to include them in the design. Car makers are all about pinching pennies. I definitely wouldn't use plastic rivets with the weight of the filled cooler and vibrations that area experiences. Then there's the heat and the plastic aging.

Diy roof rack. Just needs paint.

No it isn't, lol.

That's a Derale stacked plate cooler that's 2" thick and pretty beefy. The mounts are Derale also and came with the bolts/nuts. Surprised they're rusting.
