We have a 2022 Tahoe Z71. The vehicle got its heated seats retrofitted due to the chip shortage.

We're noticing that the front seats are nice and toasty hot but the 2nd row seats only get warm regardless of the setting we use. We took it to the dealer and they're telling us its normal. They also said they compared it to a 2023 Tahoe High Country and it was the same.

Anybody have issues with their 2nd row heated seats not getting Hot like the front?

Thx!

Are they supposed to get as hot? What does the owner's manual say?

Of course they're suppose to get hot! Every car i've had with heated rear seat get just as hot as the front seat.. Below is what the manual says:

Heated Rear Seats { Warning If temperature change or pain to the skin cannot be felt, the seat heater may cause burns. See the Warning under Heated and Ventilated Front Seats 0 41. The buttons are on the rear of the center console. With the engine running, press M or L to heat the left or right outboard seat cushion. An indicator on the rear climate control display appears when this feature is on. Press the button once for the highest setting. With each press of the button, the seat will change to the next lower setting, and then to the off setting. The indicator lights next to the buttons indicate three for the highest setting and one for the lowest. If the heated seats are on high for 30 minutes, their level may automatically be lowered.

I did not say they should not get hot, I was asking if they were supposed to get as hot as the front seats. I was clear with my question.

I don't know the answer. Do u have a 2021+ Tahoe with rear heated seats? Manual doesn't say anything except to be careful since they might burn you. If they're called heated seats, aren't they suppose to heat??

I can only suggest getting a thermal infra-red thermometer and go test some out and see.
