the only thing GM is out to get is money, have to keep those union wages up and retirement money coming in and of course the BIG bonuses and dividends.
why do you think they change the "connector" on things every couple years? a little tweak here and little tweak there and everyone is on the hook when something breaks.
go look at the map sensor or maf on a 2006, 2014, 2015, 2021, the dam part performs the same function, yet it has a new connector, same for a whole bunch of other parts.
job security. I guess we are lucky the parts will crossover from line to line.

My concern is that when GM attempts todo these same functions they will mess it up and it'll be worse then currently available.

The '21 for example, the Car Play and Android Auto bits just work; my wife is happy.
The '23; it's a mess.

Here is what I'm experiencing (only on Andriod, Apple seems to be fine)

on the '21, the Andriod's seamlessly connect and just work, the head unit retains the maps (with or without the phone attached), the google features work as expected from one drive to another.

on the '23, the Andriod's aren't connecting consistently (I've had to disconnect and reconnect the phones multiple times), the in head unit map goes away (the fix is to have the head unit redownload the map), searching on google within the head unit doesn't always function (fix is to disconnect and reconnect phone)

Sounds like a phone problem. Mine still works seamlessly. Sometimes I don't want it to connect and BAM connected lol.

A lot of these 'system' issues are attributed to phone problems. My last android was buggy when it was maxing out its internal ram. Upgraded and problem went away.

I don't believe it's a phone issue as we have multiple phones (4) and the head unit behaves oddly across all of them in the '23 but the '21 just works.

My 23 is sketchy with Carplay as well. I have a Iphone 12 max, my wife has a 13 max. It generally works, but it not as clean as my 21 Yukon with Infotainmnet 2.

Yea, infotainment in our 2021 GMC was more refined than the 23. Occasionally my iPhone doesn’t connect. As of this week, pressing the hardware camera button after startup doesn’t work right away. It does feel slow compared to the previous software. Also annoying to deny uploading contacts to google every start up.
