Hello all,

Been researching the aircore motors that were used in gauge clusters previous to 2003. Some of my needles jump and “helicopter” and looking to add oil.

What oil is recommended? Looking for more info as online I found is different:
*super lube silicone oil
*90 Weight Gear Oil or some other Oil with similarly thick viscosity

Anyone done this?

I tried the 90 weight with little success - too thick. Then used some 10w-30 synthetic that flowed better. Use a needle-less syringe and make sure you have a good seal around the needle shaft. First, draw out any air bubbles from the air core, then force the oil in.

Thanks! Got a link to the oil you used?

Was it successful after?
