Yep it just sucks because it can’t wait I’ve been waiting at the shop for 2 hours I may be here for up to 6 more hours due to it being a Sunday on Friday i couldn’t get any brake pressure despite bleeding straight to floor no resistance, woke up waiting for tow truck tow truck arrived and I magically had brake pressure because it’s colder the bad seals sealed enough to allow my truck to be flat bed towed
Why you spend all that money and put yourself through hell? Get you a small jack and a toolbox to keep in that rig at all times so when shit like this happens you can save yourself hundreds or more!
A new caliper from advance might be over 100$ and it can be swapped out in 30 min
I think it’s a 19mm 2 bolts on the bracket and the bleeder might be a 8mm
You would just need a helper to re bleed the breaks
I’ve done multiple brake calipers and wheel bearings on the side of the road and in auto zone parking lots where I did not have the money to afford a tow truck+shop visit I knew I could figure it out and get it fixed so I could get back home.
If moneys tight start off simple like I did with a harbor freight socket set and a crescent wrench and go from there!
And if you don’t know YouTube it!

i never experienced the brake pedal randomly loosing pressure and they are currently saying it’s not the caliper and are running around like chickens with their heads cut off i did my front brakes just fine before but these rear brakes wouldn’t bleed at home like normal the second the brakes wouldn’t bleed normally I instantly put it out of my league due to insurance purposes

I also have AAA unlimited distance tow however them refusing a caliper job because the “caliper is fine” while when you compress one piston the other doesn’t go up which is a big no no

They said that my master cylinder has failed and it’s gonna be a lot more than a 5 bolt job and Flush

Mud bogging eats the dust boot rubber up because you get out of the bog and then drive and build heat with the mud packed in there. The actual seal, that holds the fluid back, is exposed to anything that follows after the dust boot opens up. I mud bogged in Mo., man that was way more fun than off roading here in Oregon, and at the events, we had pressure hoses to get in there to blow the mud and crud out before hitting the asphalt.
