If you connected a jumper between the wire that sends power to the actuator and the "fold in" wire on the mirror it would start to fold in but would loose power since the actuator doesn't need power for an extended period of time as it is just a quick pulse.

But as @Doubeleive said... everything is controlled by the BCM and it could potentially cause issues.

You still need a time/delay relay to apply power to the mirrors long enough to complete the folding process.

So if I used a relay and jumped the wire it might work?

If you used a timed latch relay then it should.
You would need the relay to stay latched for 3-4 seconds after it received the signal from the door locks.

You would also need a 12v+ and ground source.

But keep in mind that everytime your doors lock the mirrors would fold... so if you have it set up to lock the doors everytime the truck is placed in gear or at a certain speed then your mirrors would fold in.

Also you would have to hit the button to fold them out everytime as they wouldn't auto fold out just because the doors unlock.

The time and labor involved and parts far outweighs simply having the option programmed, on my 2012 Denali it is already a option in the DIC so I would think it can be programmed in.

that's a good point, I thought about that and since the parking lights flash when I hit my remote to lock and when I do it to unlock. I thought about doing what you recommend, but jumping it from the parking lot flash?

6 of 1 and a half dozen of the other...

If you installed 2 of the timed relays you could...

hook one to the fold in wire and the lock signal of the door lock actuator..

And hook the second relay to the fold out wire and the unlock signal of the door lock actuator.

I agree whole heartedly... I was simply trying to answer the questions posed by the OP...

I would take advantage of the money being spent on reprogramming the BCM and have the turn signals programmed to be LED compatible at the same time as well as anything else I could think of that I wanted modified.

It's only about $200 to get the BCM reprogrammed so it's not very much in the grand scheme of things.

Any luck on this? I always thought this would be cool to do and why it was never automatically done at the manufacturer

For anyone finding this thread in 2023, I found the company that offers BCM programming now that White Auto and Media no longer does it...
