@Oaktree i got into a knock-down drag-out fight with MyGMC Customer Care about an extended warranty and escalated to as high as I could. They staunchly refused to offer one. What they did end of giving me was the equivalent of $2k worth of MY GM Rewards points which one could then use towards an extended warranty. I’d keep that idea in your back pocket if they flat-out refuse an extended warranty like they did to me. Good luck!

Haven't heard from the dealer yet but yes, it sounded like a diaphragm leaking to us BUT where its coming from, only intake plenum. And the Denver dealer said when he touched the intake he could feel a vibration. I also had something that sounded like a belt squeak 4-6 weeks ago, maybe I was hearing an early sign of a bearing go out.
Oh - wow - when my bearing blew I heard that noise too! It almost sounded like my tires screeched for a split second which I thought was extremely strange since I was going about 30mph, but piecing this all together now it was definitely when my rod bearing(s) went. FYI my Yukon made it about another 1/2 mile before the engine completely shut down & was deemed blown by my local dealer (CA).

From my dealer on 2/20(today), I saw my motor, pulled, laying on the ground and mechanic told rod bearings I think cylinders 5&7.

I'll do a final update when I get it back and report on everything.

As of 2/22: I received a diagnostic email, from the Tahoe, so I decided to call the Stevinson in CO and get an update. Service advisor said it was running and they were going to put some miles on it to ensure nothing popped up. They are supposed to call me today with another update.

With that info, I wanted to start the conversation of getting the car back to me asap. I called Customer Care (who said they were going to call me last week and didn't) and asked them to create a case so GM Reunite could take over and start the process of shipping it to AR. I also emailed my case representative hoping she would see that.

Sidenote: I'm currently driving a Wagoneer series 3 (very nice and car like, drivetrain is ok at best) from National and the battery died yesterday. I'm able to jump start it but I cannot turn the vehicle off, it won't restart. I have an american car curse.

Meanwhile, the guy down the street with the rusty Silverado with a brown door fires it up and goes to work every morning, without fail. We've reached peak over-engineering.

Thanks for the update. Glad they got it running and I hope the reunite process goes well.

I got the car back, again not a great experience.
I knew it was going to come today and was thinking he’d give me a heads up. Went outside for a run, turned right and bam, I see him drive by the house. Said he got in 3pm yesterday but was too late to deliver. Haha. He also had zero paperwork for me. Nothing to prove I took delivery of it.
So after $16,675 in rental receipts I’ll just be dealing with two small issues, fresh curbed wheel and scratched hitch cover.
The Reunite team has already opened a case which I will then send photos.
Also have a self-leveling error message on the dashboard. Just blinks that it’s trying to raise up.
I will also post photos of the front grill, it has new stain marks and the exhaust tips are rusting. I think a little elbow grease can clean that up.

Side note: I don’t know why they don’t reset the engine hour meter. And my auto start/stop, the car hasn’t shut off once today. I hope they broke that :)

Just leave it running and bill them for the fuel. Work truck style. LOL

Dang man, what the eff? Looks like there is about 8 inches to move it forward. Hope it works out well. Before long you'll have a whole new, new truck.

Too soon? LOL

It’s never too soon to laugh. I had Reunite on speaker and my wife was laughing. GM wanted to hang up fast and be done with us. I said, hold-on. I have too small issues to discuss…. Haha

Thought I would close this out.

All in all, I'm giving Chevrolet a C+.

The car is fixed and the new motor feels stronger. But that is probably from driving a Wagoneer for a month, woof, woof.

They reimbursed me $14,240, two months of rental cars and 2 Uber trips to the airport. They didn't question a single receipt and paid in 4 separate checks. Kudos to GM.

I'm still working on the Reunite damages, a $2,600 bill but am less worried about that.

What did I learn? Having it be a "trip interuption" may have helped with rental and claims. Also, I had to do everything. I had to rent the vehicles, pay for the vehicles, hope it would all get reimbursed, make the calls to customer care, follow up with them, escalate, etc.
The staff is solid D and C caliber people who are barely staying above the surface. My wife jokes that they work 1 day a week. They would only answer questions or work on your case certain days and it had to be the case lead. It was very strange.

This was an annoying expereince but I understand, shit happens. I'm glad to have the Tahoe back and hope to put many more miles on it.

Glad you got your rig back and they made you (mostly) whole. Lightning doesn’t strike twice, so swing over to Minneapolis, pick me up, and let’s drive that truck down to South America! I’ll pay for half the gas and supply the Funyuns.
