Anyone Running Kings or ICONS?

Hey Guys! Bought a 2022 Yukon, SLT 4x4 with the 5.3L for the wife. We love it but I'm a suspension guy and the ride is horrible.

I want something more controlled. Looking into the King 2.5" offerings and the ICONs for the front and rear. I want minimal, if any lift and will be doing a Billet UCA with it.

Anyone running the Kings yet?

I havnt seen anyone with them yet on the new ones. But have read a few posts from guys wondering the same as you.

I would have to guess a set of 2.5” kings would most likely ride much worse on road than the stock setup…unless you like the stiff, high speed corner contolled spirited type driving. Off road at high speed with rough terrain, well yea they would shine. You plan on doing that with it ?

Ride is spongy. Rides great until you do a lane change on the freeway, hit a bridge junction or off camber driveway, etc. The lack of rebound tuning makes massively uncontrolled in any situation where you get into the suspension more than 1-2".

They'll for sure stiffen up the ride but i can re-valve them to be what i need if they suck. 4-corner coilovers makes a commitment and pain in the ass to revalve so i hope i don't need to - exactly why i was hoping to get ride feedback from someone in the know.

Nope, i have an adventure-built Ram Cummins with a Carli Long-Travel and Go-Fast Camper, then a new Super Duty with a Carli 5.5" E-Venture, these will serve as my off-road rigs but the suspensions have spoiled me. This will be the wife's midget-hauler but i want a composed ride.

I did - it pulled up one irrelevant thread about long-travel kits in which a singular member mentioned he waited a year, then installed the bolt-on kings. The thread contained no pictures of the actual suspension short of a single visible rod-end.

As i was looking for lift heights, ride reports and suspension pictures, i thought I'd create a thread to see if it drew anyone. Thanks for your help.

No experience on this GM platform but I have Kings on my 11 Sierra and went with Bilstein struts on my 17 Suburban. I’ve considered getting a set of Kings for my 17 because they ride nicer, but def. Overkill for mainly pavement bound adventures. Thuren is one of the few ‘tuning’ resellers that may be interested in helping with the new platform.

I think the billet UCA is overkill, I’d personally go with Dirt King UCAs and a standard ball joint.

I haven't been on here in a while, but here are better photos of the UCA's and coil-overs. Been on the Tahoe for around 6 months. Couldn't be happier with the ride quality on and off road.

And here I’ve been for the last year and a half thinking our slt is by far the best riding vehicle I’ve ever been in. Every time I ride in another vehicle I find myself thinking it rides like dogshit compared to the Yukon. Different strokes for different folks I suppose the plush smooth ride of the Yukon as it floats over bumps isn’t for everyone

I run icons I like them but go with kings if you want the more plush ride
Also the Dsc adjustable ones are convenient to fine tune your ride to your liking I’ll be adding them to my icons when it comes time to rebuild them
Also running uniball uca with the pair the handling characteristics have completely changed the upgrade is well worth the money if you plan on keeping it for awhile

Based on this description I feel you might be better off looking into upgrading to some aftermarket stiffer sway bars and end links. Especially since you're not looking for any change in ride height.
