We bought a VW Atlas last year 2022. Too many issues and also wouldn't mind a bigger vehicle. Gonna be honest, we didnt do much research when buying the Atlas. Now we really gotta get it right. I have been doing some searches via Google and it seems that the Suburban isn't that reliable. I have read about some issues but it seems that most are software issues which have been updated. But I also read about transmission issues which scares me. We do a lot of traveling so need something reliable.

For those that own a 2022 could you give me your honest opinions?
Like for us, I don't think I will ever buy another VW. Lots of stupid/basic issues.

Thanks.

The suburban is pretty damn reliable as are all variants of the GM full sizers.

Transmissions have been largely solid.

Issues stem from lifters (rare, but can happen ), software glitches, water leaks (rare), otherwise pretty good to go.

What you read on the forums can be skewed as people come here to post issues more often then not. But sheer number of these vehicles out there and what little traffic this forum has is a pretty good thing.

I used to be a GM tech and the vehicles have improved tremendously. I used to only drive toyotas and found the yukon fit our needs perfectly.

It's the same for any vehicle. You have to love it enough to deal with it. If you don't any issue will break you.

Good luck.

Unless it has dampers magnetic ride than I would pass. I leased a 2016 Tahoe LT with standard shocks and I hated the truck and drove my 2008 Escalade the whole time. I would say to myself that I regret not getting the LTZ with magnetic ride or electronic suspension.

It's not a big deal. The new generation with the independent suspension rides really good. The old ones rode like wagons by comparison.

Welcome from Orlando. We have been very happy with our 2022 Denali. No real issues to report. Love to drive it and plenty of room. I would recommend the 6.2 motor and the magnetic shocks.

Why don’t you rent one without the dampers before you say that. I rented a 2022 without the dampers and it rode like my 2018 when the front struts failed.

Why would i rent one? I own a 23 lol.

The rental must have been messed up. The previous generations with a live axle ride like carriages compared to the new ones. No comparison.
