2010 Tahoe LTZ. While I’m driving the side running board on the passenger side keeps going up and down (the entire time I’m driving). The button on the dash is not pushed so I don’t know why it keeps going up and down.

Something is jammed in the position sensor, so it keeps running until its detected that its in the correct position.

I would either disconnect the power for it, or get it fixed. The motors are not designed for that much work.

You might get lucky, and power wash the running boards, from all sides, and see if its jammed with dirt or something.

How do I disconnect the power? Is there a way that I can just get them off so they don’t try to go up/down?

On the running board, under the truck, you will see a 5 wire WeatherPack plug. Get the running boards in the up position, and unplug it.

Looks like you can also just replace the motor, and that could also solve your problem..

These motors are everywhere, aftermarket and new. It may be a fairly common problem?

Edit: It could also be the power running board control module (Another thing I just found out these have)
