spacers and bearings

Do wheel spacers damage your wheel bearings over time? Or is it a non-issue?

They will cause them to fail sooner, yes. Simple physics - you're essentially using a bigger lever on them. How much sooner? That's the hard part.

Totally agree with all above. That being said, many folks do it without disasterous results. I commend you for recognizing the potential risks and asking the folks here for their opinions.

Other folks who do use spacers will chime in with their perspectives.

Anytime you move the centerline of the load out, you will increase the cantilevered load on the bearing. This can be done when people use spacers or put wheels on with less offset.

Just like running wider wheels the spacers do the same things. It’s not a huge deal, might make them last 7 years instead of 10. Depends on how hard you are on it also

Son has a jacked up 06 Silverado with a good 1 1/2 in spacers on all fours with some big tires. No problems since he's had it. Front suspension parts sure keep him busy (and broke) though.
