Has anyone been towing their travel trailer with a 2022 Yukon/Tahoe that has a lithium battery in the trailer? If so are you doing that without a dc-dc charger and how is the charging of the lithium doing while driving several hours? Any issues?
Thanks

No Issues with a 2022 Tahoe Z71, I have two 100ah Lithium batteries and have a 100 watt solar panel which tops them off slowly. I've traveled almost 10000 miles and haven't seen any issues. I believe the dc-dc charger thru the 7 pin connector charges very slow.

It wasn't being towed by anything recent, but we had an ego small travel trailer list with us recently.

LFP bank was comprised of 4x100Ah batteries. Fed a Renogy 3kw Inverter, Inverter also charged batteries when plugged in.

When being towed, there was a 275Amp (SB-275?) Anderson connector on the tongue intended to connect to corresponding on tow vehicle. Pretty sure this fed through a Renogy Charge Controller that was connected to batteries via 2awg as well as canbus. Inverter/charger also on same bus, as well as a monitor panel.

There have also been ROV trailers with similar systems. All charge direct off vehicle. No issues as far as I know. We just
Installed the high current cables direct to battery using a DPDT contactor. Renogy Charge controller maxed out at 50A, fused for 60 I think.

Thinking back, we did have an aftermarket setup come in. 4 banks of 48v LFP comprised of 4x100Ah, 800w solar, and this one used a DC-DC boost regulator whose output was 54-odd vdc with *VERY* heavy cable connection to tow vehicle. Think 2/0 heavy. And yes, there were 16 lfp 100ah batteries installed.. The new-to‐them owners were blowing alternator fuses often. We set the charge max to 60A, which gave around 15A effective charge rate to a bank, 1 at a time. Everything was Victron as far as Inverter, solar controller, DC-DC converter, etc. I would imagine original owner had a second alternator available, naybe a Neece unit as original charge rate was 180A (reset to 60).

Thanks guys for the responses. Just installed a Victron dc-dc charger today so will see how that does. I am only charging a 100ah lithium and just wanted to give it a little voltage boost as I drive.
