Our Tahoe is over three years old now and I usually go four years on a premium battery. These vehicles seem to hit the batteries hard. Should I be looking for a new on or run it another year or two? What's in the 19? AGM or standard? We don't drive this a lot, sits for a week or two sometimes, maybe a long way from home, but it has to go when we need it.

I bought a 5yr battery from Walmart in 2018. Replacement for 3yrs and prorated for 2yrs. It died this summer at almost 4yrs.
If it turns over slower when starting, battery is probably on its way out.
The one I replaced wouldn't hold a full charge. That's when I knew it was a goner.

I usually go 5 years on wife's vehicle but longer on mine. On 17 Yukon 1 year and went out one day and didn't have horn nothing put charger on it and couldn't get it to take a charge warranty replaced. Had 2004 SRX didn't replace for 10 years radio and some settings stopped working. I would probably change more often if we just had one vehicle.

I just put a new AGM in my 2019 and a new starter about 6 months ago. I do not remember what it came with from the factory.

Factory batteries are AGM as well I believe.

My Schumacher "smart" charger identifies it as an AGM battery versus a flooded battery.
Mine, which I have personally confirmed, is flooded and came that way from the factory. I have not seen anyone on this forum confirm a 15-20 that came stock with an AGM, perhaps you are the first. Your charger may be "smart" but have you laid eyes on the actual battery?

This is what I recently put into my suburban as a replacement, works amazing starts up instantly and has survived a lot of rough roads.
