I can't be the only person who uses their Yukon (22 AT4) for camping. Coming from 4Runners where the modifications were endless, I'm only looking to add an awning to my roof. Anyone figured out a way to add an awning to flush side rails or stock cross bars?

I have not but there are a couple guys out there such as Baseline Overland and MFC Offroad who I'm sure will have a roof rack developed soon.

The awning on thecopcar came with L brackets. I simply drilled holes theothertwin crossbars on the oem rack. I had actually added the rack to the roof to car my kayak. I figured crossbars on the rack were cheap enough to replace from eBay if I didn’t like the results.

Zoom in on the first pic to get a glimpse of the bracket.

I used Yakima mighty mounts. Works perfectly. Plus I can get it off and on in about 5 minutes. I have since then flipped the L brackets facing down. Wanted it closer to the roofline. I have also added a coated magnet and bracket to give it a bit more stability when traveling. IMG_20220925_115520207_HDR.jpgIMG_20220925_123539633_HDR.jpgIMG_20221009_105530697_HDR.jpg

Thank you all. I spoke to Baseline Overland and hoping to work with them on a rack. Unfortunately I don't live near him so I can't give him my rig to use for dimensions.
For now I may go the Yakima mighty mount to get the awning up there.
Appreciate the comments.

I've been chatting with him over at Overland Bound. I'd love to be close enough to have the test rig.
