Hello,
A friend bought this old 2000 Tahoe z71 5.7 and going to tune it up but the spark plugs (and everything else for that matter) looks like they never been changed, it has 147300 miles on it. any advice on getting them out? maybe they will come out but they look really bad. thanks

If you don't live in the rust belt, they shouldn't put up much fuss. GM plugs seem to have a good corrosion protection and usually break free. I'd put AC Delco back in when you do it. Also cap, rotor, wires if all original too.

The 5.7L Vin R is notorious for eating up distributor caps. Yearly. They develop cracks, OEM or aftermarket, it doesnt matter....cracks! Another thing they are notorious for is the heater hose nipple breaking off at the intake manifold. Passenger side very front of intake manifold. Then there is the infamous fuel injection spider cracking one of its runners and dumping fuel into your oil.
