your system used magnaride front shocks with air on the back. Make sure the when you plugged in the top of the shock you locked the connector in. That connector sends an electrical signal to the shock to the metalized oil in the shock. That controls the dampening of the shock. The connector has half turn lock collar and make sure the connection is clean and locked in place. You should not be able to pull the connector off if its attached correctly. A lot of people damage it trying to remove it incorrectly. Also there is an unmarked fuse in the fuse box you can remove, disconnect the battery negative then reattach the negative and leave the fuse out and it will disable the ride control. You may have to clear the fault first before doing that. Mind you the fuse trick works on MY2000 with just magnaride but i think the ECU reconizes this up till 2006. The shocks will then be de-energized but will ride like an old lincoln. Check all your ride height sensors and makes sure they aren't damaged or disconnected.
