What is the code tripping the check engine light?

I doubt overfilling the crank case with too much oil would have anything to do with tripping the ABS warning light as well...

I filled mine with too much oil after getting a false reading that indicated it was three quarts too low after I had the front end jacked up. I figured the time it took to get back on flat ground, that it would be OK the check the oil level. I guess I was wrong... It said I was 3 quarts low, so I added 2. That put the level way up over the fill indicator (into the dipstick part number)! See below.

I ran it almost three weeks with no ill affects. I did not cause any CEL or ABS lights to come on or trip any codes.

Been told so many times that "Oil changes are easy" and then I told them at my shops, "Yes, they are, if done right".

No excuse for over or under fill. The person just did not give a crap about your rig. I would demand a couple free oil changes and demand to stand there while is being done OR DO IT YOURSELF!
I would do it myself but it’s 105 outside and i’m not allowed to use our garage. I can understand a minor overfill but this was QUARTS , Atleast the CEL was for a broken off gas cap because a tweaker decided that to siphon my gas they’d take my locking gas cap off by prying on it and I hadn’t gotten gas to even check it. I still have high oil pressure. Luckily the liquid gold in my tank was stuck closed with the lower plastic part that didn’t break out it seems like they put the amount for the 8.1 or something.

I have high oil pressure it’s ironically unrelated oil was just the first thing I checked with the oil pressure., the cel was checked out by the parts store scan tool because my China one isn’t working and I found out some tweaker failed to remove my gas cap and broke the top off while the white part was still stuck in the liquid gold remained untouched. That’s also exactly how overfilled my rig looks

Also I wasn’t referring to the abs light that’s been on since I got it back from the smog repair station I’m assuming he broke something and I just didn’t care anymore that mechanic sucks. He took 2 weeks to just get a intake filter in.

the air filter for the engine , it made a difference but it definitely wasn’t why it was not passing smog it was my ignition switch and it costed over $700 that place needs a investigation by the better business bureau a $40 ignition switch + 2 hours of labor doesn’t equal $700.

Depends on the shop and their labor rate and their mark up on parts. That $40 ignition switch could be, the one on the steering column or are you talking about the key tumbler? I assume you are talking about the actual ignition switch. A $40 switch is about double the switch cost at RA. At least it is for my 2005 Tahoe. I don't know what you are driving. I agree that the $700 is high but does that cost include the switch, 2 hours labor at $150 an hour, the initial testing and then the retest, shop fees and tax? Give me a breakdown with part numbers if you have it.

By the way, I was guessing the air filter too but did not want to assume since that is the one and only time I have heard an air filter called an intake filter.

By the way, how was it explained to you that the ignition switch caused it to fail a smog test?

I always do my own maintenance. Fluids are just too easy to let some brand new tech destroy my investments. I do have a lift in the garage that makes it a breeze.
