hi all - can anyone clarify something for me (& im sorry if this has been answered in another thread - i haven’t found it)…

i have an 07 gmc yukon denali 6.2 with a gen 1 6L80 which i just finished replacing the pressure switch laminate discs / seals & replaced the old, stock check balls with the newer ones that i’ve seen suggested on here quite a few times if i was going to have the valve body on my bench, anyway.

i can’t seem to figure out if i should replace the separator plate with the part number that matches the one i currently have (27276916) or if i should update to the one that sonnax lists in their zip kit instructions (i was looking through these when i was contemplating buying one but didn’t) which is part number 27275720… the instructions say to update to the 5720 model but also state to do so in conjunction with adding their clutch select valve spring kit - which i do not have. i’m not sure if the updated plate requires the installation of that kit or if it will fit properly without one. or if i should replace with identical to the one needing replacement.

i’ve attached a screenshot of the instruction manual for reference.

thanks in advance.

so i spoke with tech/part support (he made me feel a little stupid for asking lol but hey i’m glad i did & don’t have to wish i had later on while pulling my valve body again lol)

he said like i had presumed - the newer separator plate (24245720) should only be installed in conjunction with the clutch select valve kit - or else it will cause issues & throw codes.

so i will just be using the same product number plate as i took off.

thanks for the suggestion to call! quick resolve to my debacle lol

do you know if both separator plate & tehcm filter screen should be replaced every time the valve body & tehcm is serviced / taken apart? would the gaskets / seals not seat properly otherwise? or if there is no physical damage or visible wear - could i put it all back together? i don’t mind ordering the parts - i just miss my truck lol i haven’t driven it in well over a month . i’m impatient haha
