We had issues with other departments "borrowing" equipment. Case hardened chains and pad locks slowed that down. Every now and then something heavy would get moved. It got moved back fast. I had 16 lift trucks running around my department. They were all equipped with CB radios for talking to the drivers so stuff wandered back in short order.

I'm really close to breaking this silly thing up. I've got it listed as a parts truck. I'm thinking a fusable link has failed somewhere. It's listed at $2500 but if someone has their own wheels and tires to put on it, $1500. I've tried to avoid Fords and Hondas as I've always had troubles with them. I can probably make a profit breaking it up and turning the back end into a trailer. I've done that before but that was on a truck with mechanical issues. This one ran good until the computer quit getting power.

By chance, do you have a starter relay that has 3 terminals? 2big 1 small.
Sometimes, ford took power from the extra 10 ga lead on pos battery term, others had a 4th always hot term on solenoid. Both ways used fusible link or fuse inline. Good Luck!

Yep, the normal Ford relay is there. I've been working around that. My problem is the previous owner butchered the wiring for his "system". I found one wire with continuity to one of the computer power relays but when I ran a hot wire to it, it made no difference.

Remember, two ways to wire a relay, and "usually" only two types of relays used in auto. Think VW and remember the ground side. Sorting incomplete wiring and diagrams sux for those of us that don't think or move like an electron.
I worked with several guys that could do it in their heads it seemed from a glance at a diagram. Minutes vs:hours.

The fun part is several wires are spliced and they are not all the same color along the length. I was following a white wire and it was attached to a red one. Farther along it was white again and then became yellow a little farther along. Lot's of tape on it and several wires are taped together.

I don't fool with the truck much. I may find the open circuit and it will run like a top.

I haven't fooled with the truck much lately. Too many other things going on and the Frog Follies coming up this weekend. The GF decided we would go camping this last weekend. As I pulled into my drive, I think I found why the truck won't start and run.

The problem happened all of a sudden. As I pulled into the drive, quite possibly the largest squirrel I remember ever seeing jumped out from under the truck. I'll bet I've got a gnawed wire somewhere.

Damnit, I forgot about the Frog Follies this year. I wanted to take the '33 there. I've been there in the past, but have forgotten about it since covid hit and everything was canceled

I always look forward to the swap meet. Especially the custom electrical parts and components. Starting tomorrow the Folly folks will be rolling into town. The hotel around here are a constant car show. About 15 or 20 years ago, we had a bureaucrat try to cause issues for the Folly goers. She no longer works for the Government. I forget how many millions of dollars it pumps into the economy here.

I missed it last year due to a convention I was at. I've had to make do with less than normal supplies since. Once I get rid of the Furd, whether I sell it or part it, I'm looking for another project. Definitely pre-computer era.

I'm looking for an old mid 30s to 50s pickup project. I have a freshly rebuilt flathead V8 I want to put in it.
