In 2020 my wife and I were in the market for a vehicle. We balked at the dealerships that had 0% for 84 months and sold at MSRP. "what a joke" "they wont get that" "prices will come down". We ended up finding a screaming deal on a '17 Denali Ultimate a day after the stock market hit rock bottom.

As we shopped these last couple of weeks for a new to us Denali, we kept reverting back to how we should have done the MSRP deal and could have had anything we wanted. Missed opportunities I guess.

At the end of the day, our '17 Yukon will only have cost us minimal interest and oil changes since we have owned it. Cant really beat that. Our new to us '21 Denali Ultimate was purchased for a hell of a price and looks like it rolled off the showroom yesterday.

Ideal GMC has a bunch of new Sierra HDs sitting on its lots a dealer inventory - not retail orders. According to their website, "market adjustments" apply. They are a relatively small dealership ... I'm curious how long it's going to take them to unload these pickups with a market adjustment over MSRP.

My granddaughter wrecked her new bronco sport about three weeks ago. Not her fault. They ended up totaling it due to being so difficult to repair and the unknown availability of parts to repair it.
we looked for another bronco sport on the ground at any dealership and it took us going out 300 miles to find one that was actually in stock at a dealer that we could actually buy. We drove five hours one way to bring that vehicle home for her.
That dealer said it is not uncommon for people to come from states away to buy anything that comes in off a carrier. He has done deals in Kansas and Louisiana and this dealer is in northern Michigan. Don’t underestimate how far people will come and what they will pay for a vehicle if it’s available and on the ground and they can take it home that day.
BTW, Insurance paid her $6500 more than we paid for the bronco sport new for a vehicle that had 2000 miles on it and is going to the scrap yard.

When we bought our 21 Tahoe in May of 2021 it was right when the used market was sky rocketing and new vehicles were getting hard to get. We bought ours in Novi, MI at Feldman, the biggest dealer in michigan and she said she had customers coming from South Dakota and Carolina the next day to get vehicles. We were prepared to go to Cincinnati for a Tahoe and that was 6 hours one way but found this one and made the deal same day.

I live in Central Texas, and flew to Ohio last saturday to purchase and drive ours home. Its not for a lack of inventory in my area. Its because prices are so astronomical here.

Just a rough estimate on their Tahoe ,Yukons and Suburbans ( about 80) market adjustments at $7500 comes out to over 1/2 a million dollar profit.
