Transmission, not exactly. Engine, basically, the 2023s have active fuel management (not just V8 and V4) versus dynamic fuel management (only 2 modes, V8 and V4.)
I believe the active fuel management system can run on as few as 1 or 2 cylinders and is totally variable from there up to running all 8?
With the lifter failures in 2021+ engines for the SUV (2019+ for trucks) the 2015 6.2 is probably more reliable at this point!
